I popped into a Wal-Mart on Sunday and saw nothing...but that could have just been that particular store not breaking street date. I'm actually gonna do some in-store shopping today before breaking down and going the Amazon route.

I recall saying I've never had a problem with Amazon raising the prices once the product is out-- unless I want to complain that I'll be getting these discs cheaper than the pre-order prices a month ago.

Ok the KG/Mothra blu ray is about as solid of a release as I can imagine. The picture quality is top notch as is the sound. The subtitles were literal translations so while some of the phrasing may have been awkward, it was probably the most grammatically accurate you can expect. In other words NO DUBTITLES YAY! Special features are a little light. They consist of several teasers and a theatrical trailer. I was pleasantly surprised that they were subtitled. I'd give this release a solid A.

Nice Danny!!! I'm eager to watch GvsKG tonight. I am just waiting on my friendly UPS guy to deliver my package...it's still in transit.

Question...so I pre-ordered with Amazon 3 weeks ago when the price was higher than today. Aren't they supposed to charge you the lowest price (ie the price today?). I certainly hope so!

Originally, I ordered from amazon back in March......checked the status of my order and it said 'Not yet shipped'. Afterwards, I went to Walmart......they had a movie display with Godzilla titles on either corner at the front of the store. I was pleasantly surprised to see they were charging the same price amazon was so I picked them up and cancelled my amazon preorder which was still in the Not yet shipped status.

I wasn't able to check them all out as I had to eat and get ready for work but I did skim through a couple of them. I'd have to say the transfer for Godzilla vs Destroyer is fantastic. I thought the colors were very vibrant - just a solid effort all the way around. I'm not sure on the subtitles.....nothing I saw struck me as dubtitles for this movie. Only thing I found offensive was that ridiculous overlay which I guess isn't entirely Sony's fault.

Next up, Godzilla vs Megaguiras.....picture quality is ok on this one but didn't really stand out. Unfortunately, I do believe this film has been marred with the dubtitle curse. The only line of dialogue I think they fixed was the 'butthole' line. I'm going to watch it all the way through just to make sure but at the beginning of the film....when they're chasing Godzilla..... the same idiotic reference they make calling Godzilla a lizard is still there.

I briefly skimmed through Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla 2 and King Ghidorah. MG2 has dubtitles for sure but I'm not for certain about KG. PQ for both films is fantastic and I'll give KG the slight edge. Both films have the Tristar introduction which is fine by me and MG2 does in fact have the international credits attached to it where as KG has the credits chopped off (AGAIN). Thankfully, I managed to create copies of both KG91 and GvsM92 from the Madman discs I just recently sold. I'll check out the others later tonight.

JUST A HEADS UP: if any of you are planning on picking these up at your local Wal-Fart, be sure to look in the check out area as well.
I went today after work and felt defeated after I couldn't find these in movie section. However, as I got me a few groceries, I found them near one of the front doors. Seen on Facebook where a few Wal-Fart's are doing this.
12.96 is the price for these.

So, to sum things up, if one wanted the Heisi/Millenium series, we have the following options (In terms of video quality):

- US relatively poor quality Sony DVD releases from 10 years ago
- US only slightly improved quality Sony Blu-Ray releases from now

- Toho DVDs which feature the same rather poor quality video.

- ? (is that really it?)

I just picked these up at my local Wal-Mart as well. Like others have mentioned I found the blus on a 4 sided display at the front of the store by the registers (for $12.96). The side that had the Sony blus had the paper banner inserts (left, right, and top) swapped out with ones advertising the "Toho Godzilla Collection" with the same bright green background as the one at the top of the covers. Very eye catching, which is exactly what you want in a display, hopefully it helps sell plenty of copies, I'd love to see Sony release all the other Toho kaiju and sci-fi movies they have onto blu-ray.

I took a picture with my phone (Samsung SPH-M540) but it has a pretty terrible 2 MP sensor so the pictures aren't that great. I'll work on posting the picture later, it'll at least give folks and idea of what to look for.

I took the queue from The Shadow regarding Walmart. Just got home from going there (11pm is the only time I'll even get near that place due to the insane amount of people during the normal day).

Started checking the front displays by the checkout, and sure enough, there was a section devoted to Godzilla with some of the display banners, (actually made my kinda proud to see it out there). Grabbed all four at $13 each.

Got my BDs in from Amazon today all the Sony discs and the Kraken releases.

I haven't checked any out yet but plan too next weekend going to have a Godzilla movie marathon all weekend

Loving the blu-rays so far from Sony. Watched GvsKG and thought the picture quality was awesome....I didn't remember the effects of KG attacking cities to be so....bad but my goodness lets just super impose explosions over photos of cities LOL. Anyway I still love it with all my heart.

Question for you. I have seen G2k, GxMG and GMK but I don't own them on DVD hoping they would release them on blu too. Do you think it's wise to pick up the DVDs or just wait thinking they will release them on blu-ray? I mean it seems kinda weird they didn't now.
