Fiat commercial that gives us the best look at Godzilla yet...I doubt any of this is from the movie.

Damn, that's some pretty high quality effects for a car commercial.

This may have been covered before but I'm too lazy to scroll through 414 pages:

Does anybody know if Godzilla will have his atomic ray in the new movie? In the past, American Godzilla interpretations tended to have Godzy breathing fire like a dragon instead of his blast of nuclear energy, such as in the Marvel Godzilla, the Hanna Barbara Godzilla, and Gino (oddly enough, the Gino cartoon is the only one to give it back to him). I'm curious to see if they let him have it back for this movie.
This is THE SHAPE speaking.

We haven't seen Godzilla breath yet, but we already have toys that approximate the traditional blue breath.

... oh, and that Fiat commercial is sweeeeeet!

On a somewhat off-topic note, someone on TK actually said that Straitharn's(admiral) acting was terrible.

From two forty second clips.

Seriously?

What's the arbitrary magic number where we're allowed to judge someone's performance? Can I say that you can't judge Tommy Wiseau's acting in The Room, just from watching this clip?

I'm getting a real Gamera 2 feeling from these clips. The feeling that this is a modern take but at the same time actually a really loving, super-traditional monster movie.

So KPA posted the production notes and now the credits on the main page.
If anyone read the credits they'll notice that so I wonder if he's still in.[/spoiler] Also the music listed at the bottom seems like alot of
not really sure the second one needs a spoiler but maybe.

Saw this on my FB feed...I guess someone from TK made it.

Gotta say...the arms do look weird to me. I'm sure they will be fine in the movie, but every time the posture or movement looks very different than I'm expecting. Ah well.

Saw a screening of #Godzilla tonight. Overall really enjoyed it but the music was really disappointing compared to the old theme.

My thoughts on some of these recent clips (and yes, these are based *solely* on the clips and not a final judgement at all until I actually see the film, so let’s spare the usual condescending, juvenile comments. I’ll be posting the “not a final judgement until I see the film” disclaimer throughout just in case a few of the usual suspects are too dense to grasp this concept):

- Overall, I’m really liking the tone and feel of the film. The clips have a serious tone, but not too serious/brooding, which often plagues a lot of Hollywood hero/reboot films today. Let's hope this balanced tone translates over the entire film as a whole.

- David Strathairn seems to be in very good form…he’s one of the more underrated character actors out there today. And Cranston is Cranston, excellent in almost any role he takes on.

- I’m rather indifferent on Elizabeth Olsen…nothing good nor bad to say from clips I’ve seen, and I haven’t seen enough of her other work to really comment.

- Unfortunately, I’m not too high on Aaron Taylor-Johnson from what little I’ve seen thus far. He seems wooden and flat in his delivery and just lacks charisma in general…again, I’ll wait until I see the film and his full performance before making a final judgement.

- My opinion hasn’t change on this design for Godzilla….it’s about as fugly of a G design as they come, and if that still offends the usual suspects on here, then too bad….my opinion won’t be changing on this matter, no matter how popular/unpopular it may be viewed on here.

However, as canofhumdingers stated above, *at least* it can be classified as an *actual* Godzilla design to be criticized, and the importance of this cannot be understated. And from the few clips we’ve seen of him, he is acting and behaving like…*gasp!* Godzilla (wow Hollywood, what a concept! ) So these are definitely good signs….I just wish they could have come up with a better design than this fugly thing we're stuck with, but at least close enough to be called "Godzilla".

- For me, the jury is still out regarding MUTO as a foe/adversary…he(?) looked “ok” in his toy form, but I’ve been less than impressed with the the *very* few and brief clips we've seen…seems like a very generic flying monster typical of Hollywood CGI. But we’ve barely seen him/her/it, so definitely not a final judgement...who knows, it could end up blowing us away, so we shall see.

Oh, the irony of living in Japan, and not being able to see the film until 2 months later...

^the multi-legged MUTO looked awesome in the leaked WonderCon footage...I think the flying one looks just okay too, but I'd honestly say it's more Japanese than "typical Hollywood CGI". I mean, some people STILL think it's Rodan
Gills.

At least he ain't bringing up Biogoji.

I think the Muto enemies look more Japanese than Hollywood CGI creations. They look like something out of Evangelion or from a 2000s era Super Robot series.
