Man, I can't believe they're using my absolute favorite characterization of Godzilla: Ghidorah TTHM through Son of Godzilla version. Titan of terror by nature, hero by circumstance.

I'm a happy fella. Godzilla's always the hero to me.

Well, let's just agree to disagree and leave it at that, Jor. I don't want this to turn into a flame war.

I love this new trailer.

As for it being "just another action film," I don't agree, as it's missing two elements that would qualify it for that "honor":

Shaky cam and hyper rapid cutting.

To me, this is looking "Spielbergian" in the very best sense - well constructed set pieces that orient you to the characters and the action, shots that linger long enough so that you can actually see what is going on, and a real sense of build and dramatic tension.

I'm psyched.

Weird. The idea of Godzilla being the anti-hero is much more appealing to me than I thought it would be. I'm kinda stoked he's a "good guy." I did not see that coming.

It also turns out that promotional shot with the tanks that surfaced a few weeks back was part of this trailer. Very cool.

In fairness to all the people claiming "Rodan" in previous trailers... that last shot of the winged Muto is totally a callout to Rodan.

I don't think a trailer has ever made me lightheaded with excitement before. Oh my god.

I'm starting to think I need to stop watching these trailers/clips...but I CAN'T help myself!

I have absolutely no problem with the dialog and/or effects in that new trailer. All I could say is WOW and bring it on baby!

Yes I see hints of Gigan, Rodan definitely, and that last shot of him flying toward Godzilla over people's heads is right out of Godzilla vs Megaguirus

I think this trailer was meant to draw in the 18-25 year old male action audience and won't necessarily be a true representation of what we see in the film. Editing counts for a lot in trailers. Remember that. That said FREAKIN AWESOME!

Yep, that was awesome! :D Definitely getting the whole Rodan/Gigan/Megaguirus/Gyaos vibe that everyone else is. I wonder if we might soon be getting a new domestic trailer that uses a lot of the same footage? Seems like we're due one more round about now if the typical pattern of most big movie marketing holds true, but if not, then I'll gladly settle for this. :D
