"This looks good so far but I hope we get some splid action and that it's not just a Bryan Cranston and Aaron Taylor Johnson film with a little of Godzilla here and there"
^what's lots of us saod after a couple of the trailers and interviews.
Then a trailer shows some action and people forget about those earlier trailers that showed lots of good scenes of drama and acting and now it's "This looks like too much of an action film"

I'm not the only one who finds that amusing am I? Take the whole sum of all the trailers. Not just iisolated 60-second moments.

LOL @ People thinking this was going to be The Dark Knight, but with Godzilla and other kaiju. Knew this movie would be pulling out some big ass Hollywood action, as it should. Because it's God "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" zilla.

I always took the whole "realistic" claim as a sign that this would tonally be more in line with the Godzilla films of the '50s and '80s. i.e. a straightforwardness about how humans would react to this craziness, with none of the all-out-whimsy that pervades pretty much every other Godzilla decade.

In terms of actual storyline what we're getting is more in like with Mothra vs. Godzilla/Godzilla vs. Biollante/Gamera 2, which has been pretty clear since we started hearing actual details of the story.

I love that trailer. It doesn't make the movie look like a generic action film, it makes it look like a honest-to-god Godzilla film!

What I find most amazing is, that with all this incredible footage...we STILL have not seen atomic breath. If all this can look so incredible...then just imagine what the breath will be like.

You aren't the only one noticing, jelly. It's crazy to me how much stuff people can find to complain about while we wait to actually see the movie. Strong opinions based on little evidence. I'm not talking about any fans in particular, just the general negativity I have come across in the past few months online every time something new gets shown or announced. Sure, much of the negativity seems to be in a minority, but it really baffles me coming from people who went out of their way to join every Godzilla fanpage on Facebook, etc. Here at Monster Zero I feel much more at home, because most of us seem to be very excited or at least have our well supported reasons for certain nitpicks.

Man, Edwards wasn't kidding when he hinted that the Muto's would reflect elements from several classic Godzilla foes. There's a bit of Rodan, a bit of all the insectoid creatures, a bit of Gigan...

Well done.

I can see where jorzilla is coming from, and think that you guys are a bit too quick to jump down his throat. On the other hand, I think that his expectations may have been a bit too high with regards to how similar in tone this movie would be to the original film. This is, after all, a Hollywood blockbuster movie. You can't expect to put something like Gojira into theaters today and expect it to necessarily go over well, $160m budget or not.

And, to be honest, I think you guys are way understating the degree to which The Dark Knight was just an action movie, and not a super serious dark philosophical mood piece. A very well made action movie, to be sure, but at the end of the day, it was still a movie about a guy in a bat suit fighting a killer clown. :?

So they finally show an action oriented trailer that displays Godzilla as an anti-hero and you're disappointed????? Every movie has different types of trailers to try to bring in different demographics and this trailer definitely just killed all speculation of this not having enough monster action.

The line " A monster? No.. A god" literally left me with a huge smile on my face plus I loved the score (if that is his theme). Can't wait!

Actually Jor, some corrections:

1. Yes, in the firs trailer and a lot of other promotional vids we've seen, the airdrop is inconsistent. However, in the extended look, the scene has been reshot with the correct interior.

2. When the people go into what I presume to be a shop, you can see through the blurriness and low quality that cracks do appear to be forming on the glass, and the water is starting to burst in through the seam between the doors.

Just saying.
