Today, I was lucky enough to buy a pre-owned box of the S.H. MonsterArts Effects and Toho Super Weapons Set online for a pretty good deal. The set is used, but they should be complete. I'll be sure to share some pics after they show up.

Picked up Gamera 96 from. XPlus (the small version) to go with the Legion I just bought. I've also preordered G2003 and G64 (Xplus).

I'm loving how active (and varied) this thread is lately.
I don't have a Toto outside of the Konami SF release, so that 6" is kind of tempting.
Are you planning on opening that Irys figure?

I'd recommend the Toto, personally. I got it on Amazon for just $20-some. Looks nice next to Showa Godzilla and such. Together, with Jet Jaguar, Bandai Creation G'68, and standard King Caesar, they make up Team Derp!

Double post, but forgot to mention I'm considering trying to build a few models...never done it before and I am not an artsy kinda guy. My wife is tho and she said she'd actually help me paint it. That's probably the hardest part since I've never been able to even color a coloring book within the lines.

I'm waiting for a G '89 reissue also, but with Diamond's fifth wave coming out in November, perhaps this figure won't be available until the beginning of 2014. On another topic, what model kits are you planning to build?

I know everyone says to preorder the X Plus stuff now, but I managed to snag G64 a few days ago even though he's actually being shipped out this month. I'm kinda wondering if I can wait to preorder wave 5 til later since I know G64 was in demand.

As for kits:

I was looking at this site...kinda gravitating towards the Kaiyodo G89 or other models because they're very affordable. The Volks Ghidorah Jr looks great and I'm not sure I've seen an inexpensive Ghidorah I like. Gotta stay within my budget.

Just came in today!

Image
Ultraman Spark Dolls. From left to right: Ultraman Belial, Eleking, Ultraseven, Ultraman, Zetton, and King Joe.

Image
Bandai 6" Geronimon (from Ultraman)

Now for some closeups and figure size comparisons!

My full collection of Spark Dolls thus far - Galberos and Gomora plus these new guys.

Just the Spark Doll kaiju.

Geronimon Side Shot

Image
Geronimon meets Godzilla 2000 and Orga. This figure is pretty well scaled.

Image
Spark Doll Ultraman vs. Standard Bandai Geronimon. Decently scaled - Geronimon WAS bigger than Ultraman.

Godzilla 2000 towers over King Joe and Ultraseven.

Orga pummels Zetton and towers over Belial and Eleking.

I am LOVING this Spark Doll line. I'm not a hardcore Ultraman collector and these figures aren't too big or too small. They fit well on shelves and there's a TON of them to get. AND, the best thing about them... they're affordable! We're talking just $7 a figure here, $12 max for some others, and $20 for "deluxe" ones that are about standard 6" size (there's a Tyrant, Super Grand King, and an upcoming Zogu thus far). This is a line I can actually see myself hunting down until completion, or at least getting a lot more of. I believe there's 150 figures in the line so far. I'm simply starting with the basic kaiju and heroes (Ultraman, Seven, Gomora, etc) and some of my favorites (Galberos, going to be ordering a Silvagon soon). If there's one thing good that came from Ultraman Ginga, its this Spark Doll line. I LOVE THEM!

... Now if only they'd do a Godzilla/Toho-based Spark Doll line...

And why did I get standard Bandai Geronimon? Well, he's one of my favorite UM kaiju and he doesn't have a Spark Doll (yet) and Amazon had him for just $10.

And here, so far, is all of my standard Bandai UM Vinyls and Spark Dolls I have thus far.

I have 3 things en route as of now. First off, the Gamera Memorial Box which I just put the final payment on.

Image

Second, a Bandai 6" Gudon, my absolute favorite UM kaiju.
Image

And lastly, Hybrid Godzilla set me up with a source for the Jakks Pacific Godzilla for just $39 + shipping/tax. Came out to just $51.
Image

I can't wait for the Jakks Godzilla to take the crown away from my Ultimate G'98 as my biggest figure.
