i realize i'm in the minority on that figure.. i'm glad that it resonates so well with a lot of people. i'll probably hold onto it until X-Plus does a 25cm Ghidorah

I like the gigantic figures. They're artistic interpretations which is fine, and kind of fun to have something different. The GMK one took me a bit to warm up to, but I like it well enough. I think the G'95 is pretty cool looking, especially the head/face. Now, I don't like either of them well enough to plunk down the money to buy them. But that's more a budget issue and the fact that I just don't have the space for something like that moreso than a reflection of how much I like or dont like them.

As for the Gigabrain Ghidorah, it's pretty well documented on here that I think it's absolutely the best King Ghidorah toy ever made and it sets the bar so high that I find it doubtful anyone will come close to its awesomeness any time soon. I've never seen the M1 GMK Ghidorah in person, but I've been tempted to buy it a few times. It looks great in pictures. But it has two major strikes against it. The first, and biggest is that it's not the '64 version. The '64 and '65 versions of Ghidorah are THE essential King Ghidorah in my book and have never been topped as a villain in the Godzilla franchise. The second strike is not only is it not the BEST iteration of Ghidorah, it's probably my absolute LEAST favorite version. It does look like a nice figure, but the Gigabrain is the absolute best incarnation of my favorite Godzilla villain done in my favorite style of toy (large, high quality, stylized-but-not-too-stylized, and really NAILS the character's essence and spirit). It's the same reason the Gigabrain G'64 and Marmit MH G'99 are bar none my favorite figures of those Godzilla suits.

But I'd still love to see X-plus do their own King Ghidorah and knock it out of the park. I think their G'64 is really great even though I don't own it.

I know the feeling. I used to collect every Showa Gigan I could find, but to me the 25cm X-Plus Gigan was so perfect that I actually thinned my collection a bit and can't picture another figure supplanting it

I'm not a fan of the GMK gigantic. I actually like the stylization for DesuG but not enough to shell out the cash. I am really excited for the Gamera 25cm and hope we get a Legion soon, but that figure will be absolutely huge given the 7 inch version was already a foot long.

I'm way late to the collecting party so a lot of this is new for me. I adore a lot of the marmit figures and would love a new XPlus KG (which will also be huge I'm sure). Supposedly Bio Goji is being released at some point by Diamond so I gotta hold out for that.. There are so many figures I want.

I'm not into X-Plus like I used to be, so I wouldn't get a Ghidorah release, but I'm sure it would be awesome, if Biollante is anything to go by. I wouldn't mind getting the Gigabrain if I can find it for a good price, but for now I'm totally fine with my M1 Ghidorah. Despite the GMK Ghidorah also being my least favorite design of the beast, the M1 figure just brings out a brand new character and is reminiscent of other Ghidorah designs as well imo. Perhaps I'll take some photos or video sometime showing it off.

Also, as stated before, I dig the artistic take on the gigantic series. If you want the suit-accurate stuff, that's what they have going with the 25-30cm lines. Gigantic series seems to be if you just want a crazy exaggerated representation of a certain suit, to show off your collection to whoever may be visiting at your house. For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure your average non-Godzilla fan would find the GMK/DesuGoji Gigantic design to be way more badass than the actual suit-design. They're big, mean, tough, and look like they're about ready to rip -ish up. It's just a cool art piece, and you see all sorts of similar pieces at G-fest and such when people build their custom kits. As someone who grew bored with straight-up realistic representations of the suits (hence my move to mainly M1), it's cool to have something different.

My dad likes these but I'm more of a suit accurate kind of guy and the head on the DesuGoji is yet again off.... I don't understand the shelling of such cash for something that wasn't in a movie.

On the Ghidorah front, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BE 30CM!

As a big fan of model kits, the gigantic line using the kaibutsuya scuplts is great. I really enjoy the hybrid stylized yet "realistic" sculpts.

As for KG. I want both in 25 and 30cm scale. I have a 30cm scale KG in unbuilt kit form and wouldn't mind a vinyl at all. If x plus licenses certain sculpts from garage kits, then I have no doubt it will be the greatest KG made, and I have 4 gigabrain KGs.

The Gigantic Godzilla '95 figure is great, and definitely something I wouldn't mind having in my collection. On another note, I'd like to see a 25 cm version of King Ghidorah. There are so many figures coming out this year, and a 25 cm scale of KG will be easier for me to manage.

SciFi Japan has product specs and high-res photos from X-Plus for their Godzilla, Gamera and Ultraman series figures coming in late May. X-Plus has also addressed online rumors that several of their releases would be delayed until late summer.

I guess we'll find out soon. I'd probably buy it assuming it looks as good as I think it will

If the Legendary Godzilla figure looks good enough, I just may pick this one up. NECA's figures didn't compel me enough to buy them quickly, so I'm waiting to see what X-Plus and Tamashii Nations will do.

The 30 cm G'62 is the way to go.. the 25 cm has some issues with the head.. not as bad as the G'75 but not up to typical X-Plus standards.

The painted pictures are up for the Gamera 1996 figure, imho the 30cm release looks like it got the better paint.

Man...that X-Plus Varan looks more and more tempting every day. It's just...a lot to drop on one thing. >_>
Someone convince me not to get this thing.

Also, is there any chance of Diamond doing a run of the Gigantic Godzilla 2001?

So I caved and preordered Gamera 96. I have the smaller Legion and Gam 96 figure already, but that new sculpt is so beautiful I had to cave.

Welcome to X-Plus addiction... i've found over the years that if i am even slightly interested in a figure i buy it... better to sell it on ebay for 2x what i paid for it 4 months later than to buy it on ebay for 3x as much as i could have paid for it. I definitely overpaid on the Gamera 95, but is probably my second favorite Gamera related figure.
