A direct attack on New York where people die is a throw away scene? Seems very convenient for your argument. Disagree all you want, but if someone simply stated they didn't want the tsunami scene because they felt it was too soon and people weren't ready that's certainly a fair point. As it stands, it looks like people would rather hold offense instead of admitting they're just not ready for it.
If the same attitudes prevailed in 54, there is no Godzilla movie. I'm not trying to be insensitive. I can't imagine the loss or the horror of such events. But I actually think movies alleviate some of that rather than make it worse, assuming it is respectfully done.
