Anyone else notice that the wave patterns Cranston's character looks at before the nuclear disaster, and the monitors showing the two MUTOs are identical?

Yeah,

I'm guessing it is the Mutos that cause the meltdown, and that they are being covered up because they MAY have been somehow tampered with...They have a designed look, so angular. Very UN organic.

Yeah I noticed that too. It would certainly be worthy of a cover-up if creatures that were somehow engineered by the military were responsible for a huge disaster like that, so I'd say it's pretty likely.

I have a feeling this film will be to fast, dark and up close for me to notice a lot of what is going on. A lot of details are lost to me that way. I think I will be freeze framing the DVD later on just to see all the cool stuff I missed.

So the track at 0:31 into the trailer is NOT a part of the official film score. It's a song titled "Don't Bother They're Here" by Stars of the Lid.

Have to admit, listening to it in full, it's fantastically ambient. I think I'll check out their other stuff.

Not at all DannyBeane, not at all. I had a huge grin on my face as soon as I saw the screenshot.

The most amusing, and somewhat interesting, thing I'd heard from someone lately was that if there is a another film the military should build a cyborg using one of the dead MUTO's. Oddly enough, based on what we've seen of them I'd imagine the end result would look somewhat like Gigan.

New synopsis for the film.(From the official website)

"From visionary new director Gareth Edwards ("Monsters") comes a powerful story of human courage and reoncilliation in the face of titanic forces of nature, when the aweinspiring Godzilla rises to restore balance as humanity stands defensless."

What do you think?

^I think that, despite being a force of nature/terrifying monster/extraordinarily dangerous, the synopsis basically points to Godzilla being the hero.

I like that.

Also, with the human/family element of the story... watching these trailers and TV spots I get the feeling that this movie is gonna make us cry.

Something I was curious about and was wondering if anyone else had noticed the same...I went and saw Captain America yesterday(decent movie but a bit predictable)and the theater I saw it in (AMC 24) had absolutely no promotional items on display for Godzilla. No posters, no standee's, nuth'in at all. Strikes me as a little strange, but perhaps it's just this venue?

Well, after watching the Final Four last night, (go BIG BLUE!) me and the fam noticed that they aired all four(?) separate Godzilla TV spots. Glad to see that they aired them during an event with such a large audience watching.

Saw my first TV spot on actual television as well, though not during a program as high profile as the Final Four (Auction Hunters  ). Looking forward to the marketing push!
