Snagged the XPlus Legion (probably my favorite new kaiju of the Heisei era) for a steal on ebay. Pics when she arrives.

Also looking at the G64 XPlus reissue, MG74 30cm, Irys and Gamera 2... Can't get em all now but I'm shopping around.

Oh, I almost preordered the 24 in Neca G14 figure but I'm holding out for something better for now. I might change my mind.

the 30cm Xplus G'64 is worth every penny  If you are a big Legion fan, my two favorite releases for the character are the Revoltech and a much smaller figure from Konami SF series.

Most of my new purchases lately have been new releases, with the occasional score from my wishlist, but i did pick up a new figure that i actually didn't have a single representation of: Nightmare Gamera from Gamera 3.

That's a cool figure, but seeing it reminds me why I'm not a huge fan of the G3 design in general. I know nightmare version takes it a step further, but the whole thing is too extreme for my tastes....for Gamera.

GOTU all the way for me, but the collector in me has to have some representation of the other suits. (it doesn't hurt that despite the high level of detail this figure is only about 4.5" so it doesn't take up a lot of space) I do have the fantastic Art of War Gamera 3 statue (which i got from someone on the CT Yahoo list a few years back) it is a great piece that makes me like the G3 suit more than the actual G3 suit does.

I really, really want a G85 xplus but he's so spendy now. :/

Also, the Revlotech Legion is awesome but the scale isn't what I wanted. I really like the articulation though.

That Nightmare Gamera looks neat (is that from the recent blind-packed set?), but I much prefer the more subdued appearance of the Iwakura Nightmare Gamera and the old X-Plus vinyl. This one looks to have a heavy mix of the adult Gamera from Gamera the Brave in there with all the spiky bits.

It is from that set.

I kind of thought the X-Plus one was so subdued that it could be mistaken for the normal G3 suit. I also hadn't thought Iwakura had made a Nightmare Gamera, but after looking it up.. i have that one too, i just had no idea it was supposed to be the Nightmare version, but the eyes are right so I guess I have two now. but i don't think those two are spikey enough to represent the suit.

Does the Nightmare Gamera have a full shot of the suit anywhere? I know we didn't see much in the movie beyond the head and shoulders. Hell, does the thing actually exist as a fully unique suit? From the lone screenshot enough seems to fit the Iwakura design's head to be appropriate, while the Art Spirits almost looks like a full body derived from what little is seen, if that makes sense. In any case, the Art Spirits sculpt is still a neat one, regardless of accuracy, even if not my cup of tea.

I think i have a G3 artbook at home, so i'll check, but maybe the Gamera Perfection book will have it (that should be arriving any day now).. it may have only been a puppet. There was a lot of incredible puppetry in GtB.

::EDIT:: My Gamera 3 artbook didnt have a single Nightmare Gamera image in it, not even in the behind the scenes or concept art sections :? Maybe the Gamera Perfection book will have something

Ah, nice. So we need the head of the Art Spirits release and the body of the Iwakura, although seeing that, the X-Plus release looks a bit better than i initially thought.

Looks like they just modded a suit from G2 to make the nightmare version.

FINALLY on these forums. :D

Recently got back into collecting figures, especially Ultra-related. Just got an arrangement to get the 1999 Bandai Gamera Memorial Box.

Image

Also ordering Bandai Gamera Toto, Geronimon, and then new Spark Dolls of Ultraman, Ultraseven, Ultraman Belial, Zetton, Eleking, and King Joe.

Sometimes getting outbid in eBay is a blessing in disguise. I lost a bid on An XPlus Irys that was used and instead got a new one for 21 bucks cheaper. :)

I'm also getting the 7in Gamera 96 and the X plus legion since these are all in scale with each other. I also snagged the Sega G3 figure which is massssssive.

Lastly, I picked up the XPlus 30cm MG. Pics coming soon.

Got these guys. I love them. Honestly the detail is better on the Chibi Muto than the regular figure. I hope we get a NECA or Monsterarts figure later on.

Welcome to the Gezora party! After Matangos, Gezoras and Mechagodzillas are the next desirable figures of mine. As of right now I just have the M1 Gezoras though, but the Marmits look great - just waiting until I happen across one someday for a decent price.
