Can these TV spots get any better? Really setting this up as a dramatic family story unfolding in a horrific situation. Really seems more like a November December release with the tension filled story than a summer popcorn film. Thumbs up so far.

I know we moved on from this topic, but I seriously don't like what the PG-13 rating has done to movies, just in general, not specific to just Godzilla. Having to shoe-horn in what amounts to creative censorship to meet a PG-13 requirement (which is arbitrary) is annoying. Like only being allowed 2 F-bombs, but not in the context of sexual intercourse, being okay with violence as long as their isn't blood or gore, sexual imagery or nudity, but not together, etc. While these elements are OBVIOUSLY not needed for a Godzilla film, the requirements have lead to the same, bland action movies that we've had for the last 20 years since no one is willing to take risks on a big budget movie that isn't 'OK' for tweens/teens to view. "This Film is Not Yet Rated" does a good analysis of this issue.

So are we getting another taste tomorrow? Seems to be the trend this week... not getting my hopes up though.


PG-13 movies get away with murder as far as violence goes. Noah had some disturbing parts in it that I thought were a little rough and people were bringing their kids to see the movie. One of them had to be six. As long as they don't use cuss words or show tittays, violence is fine. Am I the only one who thinks it should be the other way around? Anywho I think the type of violent or barbaric material will be with Godzilla fighting Muto's and probably some very eerie shots reminiscent of 9/11. (people falling from buildings, dead bodies everywhere, etc)

im fine with the CG. It looks to be Pacific Rim level CG and i loved the animation in that film. I really dont know what people were expecting though.

Waiting another month is going to be torture......the more I see of this movie the more I think it's going to be a spectacular thrill ride. The month of May is going to rock so hard.......it's almost like Christmas has come early....for kaiju fans that is.

We'll almost certainly get another TV spot tomorrow. However, I'd give it pretty good odds that the TV spot we get tomorrow is just an official release of the one leaked by CDN trailers earlier today--the one with the "None of us have ever faced a situation" etc. etc. speech.
