Wow! I really like that image. If we get another re-release, I hope that's the image they plan to use for the DVD cover. ^_^

Yeah, except for the font I actually like it.

It would make a nice poster or wallpaper shot.

Did they photoshop the puppet head onto the suit? Not bad if they did. I assume it's exactly the same as the original disc?

Count me in as another who loves the box art. Very cool.

That is one of the coolest box arts I've ever seen. Simiply amazing.

If it wasn't for the funky looking head, I'd really think about repurchasing it.

If it wasn't for the fact of me having the Criterion Godzlla '54 BD, i'd purchase this also.

I have the Criterion disc. I still wouldn't buy this though as I have the CM set from a number of years ago...so I wouldn't really see the point.

Well, their prices reflect the amount of work they put into their releases. Restorations cost money.

Classic Media sent me some info, product specs and high-res cover art for their DVD re-release of the original GODZILLA. Everything is now on SciFi Japan.

I'm glad the release includes Gojira, so new fans who see the current movie and see this (value priced) release will be getting the best of the best. I really thought this was only gonna be KOTM.

"Classic Media is considering repackaging their other Godzilla titles for DVD later this year - possibly to coincide with the North American home video release of the new film - but nothing has been decided at this time."

How about you consider Blu-ray, Classic Media. Image

It's a shame fans had to be nitpicky over a minor cover issue or else Criterion would have probably done more Godzilla releases. :(

I don't exactly recall the tizzy/hissy fit some people had with the Criterion cover, was it the silhouette of Godzilla not matching the first Godzilla depiction? I don't recall being fussed with it myself since it was just the cover art, and the purpose of cover art has always been to attract potential buyers.

Come to think of it, I don't think I remember anyone here at Monster Zero being bothered by Criterion's cover art.
