The Godzilla 1984/85 figure isn't being cancelled. The guy for NECA said that this figure will be revealed before the San Diego Comic Con.

The new toy pics in this thread are pretty cool. It seems folks are running to TRU to see if their store has it in. Some folks have said on FB that the large figures are selling out. LOL! Big G has come back and made a possible splash with the figures and film coming. Then there will be the later released DVD/Blu-Ray this year along with musical score music on CD and such. Godzilla will be buzzing all year in the US.

EDIT: And there is the great looking mobile video game too.
I can hear really well and I am STRONGER than ever!

I do sincerely hope that the NECA G84 comes out sooner rather than later, it's one of my favorite looks and the only figure I have a it is the four inch tall HG that came in a set with five other Godzilla incarnations.

Honestly.... None of these figures have me excited. They all look kinda odd, and I can't pinpoint what it is. The NECA figure looks a bit better though. Is there a 6 inch Muto toy or just the one in the destruction pack?

I would agree that these figures look pretty bad. That's not a knock on the design...just the figures themselves.

I went ahead and preordered the NECA 6" to match the rest of my vinyl collection, was gonna go after a Big Jakks G but the quality isn't there to make me hunt it down or spend a cent over 50.

The only major concern I have with any of the figure so far is the feet, they look more like an elephant foot then anything else. Looks like they took the origonal Godzilla and bound his feet up since Final Wars.

Hopefully we see a vinyl esq Zilla and Mutoh before all is said and done.

Has there been any confirmation that K-mart is getting anything?

I actually really like the SD Godzilla that comes with the winged Muto. I've considered getting it actually. But all of the stuff for "serious collectors" looks pretty lame and the kid stuff, understandably looks pretty bad too.

BUT we still have the Monsterarts coming out and the Sideshow statue...those two should fufill the high-end collectable niche.

Popped into toyrus with my son today. I got him the destruction pack with the Muto, and the "Atomic Roar" Godzilla. The big 24" Godzilla was sold out already. The atomic roar Godzilla actually is pretty good looking, and imo the best looking Godzilla toy. My son loves both of the toys I got him, soooo yay! For me, I'll be waiting for the sideshow statue.

Stopped by a local TRU earlier and only G14 they had in stock was the Destruction pack, so I picked it up. Found it kind of odd that there was no Toho monster logos on the back. Hmm.... :?

Side note, they also had that super deformed Mecha Godzilla on clearance, so I picked him up as well. :D

To be honest, I cannot tell if the NECA toys themselves are bad, or if it's just the butt-ugly LP G design itself that's bad (or perhaps both  )....

I couldn't resist not passing on the JAKKS figure.

Something that size coming out of Japan would have been ridiculously priced compared to being sold here. Outside of them making the spikes a bit smaller on the toy compared to how they seem in the film, this design / toy is impressive. Looking at it in person the feet make sense.

From the pictures the Jakks figure is WAY cooler of a toy. The sheer size is nuts. I can't wait to get it and have it next to my shogun Godzilla.

The Neca stuff looks bad. Too much articulation that takes away from a great monster design. They just look off.

I know Sideshow Collectables is doing Godzilla stuff for the movie, but I haven't seen any info/pictures yet.

Got a few things today
Image
As I said on facebook, there's a beautiful ugliness to these things, like the Shogun Warriors Godzilla figure.
Image
I think the smash strike Godzilla could have been fixed...mostly if the lower half of his body were wider and the torso could better hide the action gimmick within.
Still alright for what they cost. Atomic Roar always makes me laugh.

I got the "Destruction City" set with the eight-legged Muto at my local toys r us yesterday, and I had gotten the Jaaks big daddy G there over the weekend.

The 40" figure looks great... I think it's good enough for display even with the gimmicky tail strike action... I wish they hadn't bothered with that "feature" but it's not that big a deal. I'm also not crazy about the screw holes on the back, but it is what it is. Like I mentioned earlier, if someone wanted to pick one up at it's reasonable price point and mod it with some epoxy you could make it more of a statue and it would look great, assuming your paint skills were good enough to cover your work. But I'm still very happy with it.

They had a couple of the tail strike and smash strike figures, but after pushing the action button on each one once I realized that these weren't for me. Permanent pass on those.

They didn't have the NECA ones but from the pics I don't think they look bad to me, but I think the tail is over-articulated. But I'll get them when I see them. Not interested in the MonsterArts.... I only got two MonsterArts figures, one was a show exclusive I got from bigbadtoystore that I'm hanging on to, but the other was Burning Godzilla and I was disgusted with the blatant leg gaps that had been discussed abundantly before so I sent that back. And I love Burning Godzilla so it pained me to be so disappointed in that fig. For their lofty price points I think they're overrated so I gave up on that line. Biollante looked great but it's just too expensive.

One interesting thing, there are two of those destruction packs, one with 8-legged muto and one with winged muto. My toys-r-us only had one so I couldn't compare them side by side, but I thought it a bit disappointing that they both come with identical looking Godzillas. Then I looked closer at the back of the box, and it looks like the Godzilla fig that comes in the set with the winged muto has a much lighter underbelly than the one that comes with the 8-legged muto. Of course it could just be a lighting issue or inconsistency with the paint job, but it makes me wonder if it's some sort of "powered up" form... I can't recall if anything like that being mentioned in the spoilers and it's a pretty minor change if it does indicate some sort of second form, but it got me thinking. Anybody hear anything along those lines?
