Cool. I pretty much agree with you (although i did dislike the second ongoing considerably more than KoM).

IDW has provided SciFi Japan with an advance look at Godzilla: Rulers of Earth #12 plus the third trade paperback collection of the series. Both are coming to comic book shops and retailers in May 2014.

What's with ending each series with a Godzilla and a volcano cover?

All kidding aside, it's a very nice, dynamic cover from Frank.

^ i was actually a little surprised that was Frank's cover and i mean that in a good way. He's consistently captured great emotion and reaction in the kaiju, (which aside from a very few panels from Hester we really haven't seen much of in any G-comic, Marvel and DC included) but i thought his composition for RoE#5 made it the weakest cover he has put out, this one however is definitely one of his stronger covers with great composition. Definitely looking forward to seeing more from him, or at least maybe future G-artist can take a few queues from him.

On a side note, despite the issue 12 solicit and a message over a month ago saying news was coming soon, Curnow is still saying that he can't say what the future of RoE is yet.. so maybe it hits issue 13 and beyond, maybe a new series in IDW-continuity with the same team, maybe nothing until the miniseries, maybe they kill off Godzilla and give Zilla his own series... who knows.

So is this just a single issue that will recap KoM + HGM + RoE all in a single issue? I guess that might help as a jump on for new readers, but i don't understand the loyalty to the IDW-continuity.

M. Frank's blog post said it was going to be at least 4 more issues, but Bobby's post implies it could go on as long as sales stay strong. I am happy to see it continue since i have been happy with it as an ongoing. Now bring on more minis to supplement!

If IDW has the rights to Godzilla and the Transformers, I would really LOOOVE to see a Godzilla Vs Transformers crossover comic. This is like something that just NEEDS to happen. It would be so awesome to see Godzilla taking on Tripticon, Metroplex, Fortress Maximus or even Unicron!

Here's hoping something like this may happen:

Toho has already said "no". Godzilla and pals are not even allowed to participate in the IDW major crossovers like "Infestation"

I find Showa MG's inclusion a bit odd though. Isn't he a bit...idk low tech for this series?

Unfortunately, I don't think this peice is for the comic. Just seen on Matt's Facebook that he made this for an art show. He also has it inked now showing the whole piece.
It's still pretty awesome looking!
