I just saw a guy on FB claiming (again) that the firefighters scene was a homage to the Mothra Fairies...

His reason? The Godzilla Official Facebook page said there would be homages in the film. Nothing about fairies, just homages. That's quite the leap he just took.

Most of the questions I saw were pretty bland and Edwards' responses were kind of funny. I didn't see anything new.

A. In that photo above the thread the newspaper headline seems to suggest that when Godzilla returns in this movie, everyone has a working knowledge of him from 1954.

B. Gareth showed a new extended clip at SXSW. Apparently its revealed a kaiju other then Godzilla.

How close to the release date movies are typically finalized? I'm just kind of wondering since the footage shown yesterday was not completed. It's very cool to see such positive reaction...May needs to be here now.

And you know what's crazy? Even with Edwards not being a MEGA-FAN-ZOMG! We're actually still getting at least ONE thing MEGA-FANS have wanted to see for years: Godzilla's getting a nuke dropped on him. (Well, okay, not DROPPED, but still. He's getting hit with a nuke)
