I'll just say it and get it out of the way. It looks like Clover. Though on the more attractive side. However, it's not as insectoid as I had imagined.

Can't tell if that storyboard thing is legit without looking... Part of me is expecting a Bio Goji joke or something and I hate spoilers minus the creature designs and leaked toys.

The muto toy looks like clover. It's still very hard to see.

You can safely look at the "storyboard leak". Still movie-related however.

That Muto looks less like a real-to-life insect and more like a stylized creature in the vein of Ultraman or Evangelion.

... I approve.

I certainly didn't except it look like that. I had a centipede in my mind.

Honesty the red glow from the trailer and the toy reminds me of the creatures from "Monsters." I'm fine with the design. I'm sure we will get better pics of the toy soon.

Ohh color me impressed. It reminds me of um... those mass produced Evangelions or Ultraman Belial with a more insectoid appearance! I approve. It's a Japanese styled foe more than I thought.

I wonder how much of that is being over-simplified by the scale of the figures.

The more I look at it, the more I'm convinced that's our flyer though..notjust from the size, but the more I look, the more it resembles the way a BAT would walk.

I'm actually pleased that it has a somewhat humanoid shape, like you could maybe put a suit actor in there. While CGI allows you to make any form that you want, I really liked that Pacific Rim and perhaps this movie are following a more suit-based tradition.

Looking at the Muto toy for awhile I've made a quick drawing in paint of it, it has three pairs of "arms" on the upper torso, two huge ones that end in backwards "feet" and two smaller arms close to the body which are probably for grasping, and it has two legs on the bottom with those feet.
Anyways my picture is very simple just to give an idea how it stands in the toy version, and the red parts are the bioluminescence.

Suffice it to say a very interesting looking creature.

EDIT: Made a better looking version.

Never imagined that thing. Can't wait to find out about its origin.
It looks engineered. Maybe the bolstered by man's scientific arrogance means
more than I thought.
