EVERY SINGLE THING that this man is saying leads me to believe that, unlike a lot of directors who pay lipservice and SAY that they're fans of whatever character they're making a movie of... Gareth Edwards absolutely, truly IS a diehard Godzilla fan. The fact that he & his crew went to such lengths to actually attempt a faithful recreation of that iconic roar just stuns me. They didn't just sample the old one or dump it in favor of creating their own take because it would be just so much more radial cool, etc., etc. They went out and bought a double bass, got a leather glove and went and did what Ifukube did 60 years ago! That is just frickin' AWESOME!! I cannot describe how overjoyed that makes me feel.
The farther forward we go into this, the more I believe that it will be one of the best entries in the entire franchise, and that the four fathers of Godzilla must be looking down from heaven and smiling upon Edwards and his crew. Someone finally seems to GET this. I try not to get my hopes up because they've been dashed before. Hard. But I cannot help getting as giddy as a schoolboy with each new article, photo, clip and piece of info I encounter regarding this film. Geez... am I the only older adult male here who is quickly regressing back into a happy little seven year-old boy again???

Thanks for posting the link to this clip. Lots of fun stuff. Well worth the 10mins to watch.
