Honestly the texturing gives off a very "mutated" feel. His spikes looks huge in the first a bomb scene...maybe he is mutated in this as well?

@ dorkzilla. The spines coming through the rail bridge resemble classic stegosaurus plates.
When I freeze framed it I could see none of the jaggedness of Godzilla's dorsals. Definitely something funny going on in that scene.

In the end shot I think the buildings are in the foreground. Hard to tell without the street level view.

Does Godzilla's head look different to any of you? Doesn't really resemble the trailer's, to me.

It looks a touch different, but that's easily attributed to in-motion vs. a picture, and airbrushing/photoshopping.

With both Empire Covers, I really do believe there is a pre-atomic bomb and post-atomic bomb Godzilla.

The new design does remind me of Always 2 Goji.

If there is a pre/post atomb bomb Godzilla, I'd be ok with that. The original Gojira was similar in origin.

Edit: the trailer hit 5.2 million already. How comparable is that to the teaser? I don't remember.

the scale and texture of Godzilla on that cover reminds me of the Stan Winston Godzilla.

What's with all this BioGoji stuff???? That suit was cool, but it wasn't THAT great. Let's be honest here. This is a big budget, HOLLYWOOD film. There is nothing that Toho has ever done in special effects that could even touch what we're about to get in this movie. I love the suits, the cheese, and all that good stuff, but Hollywood sfx > suitmation. Also, for the record... 1991 Godzilla suit > Biollante Godzilla suit.

If you want to actually DISCUSS, instead of just spam, we can talk about your insistence that Godzilla ought to have a double-row of teeth when that's literally been featured in a quarter of the films and is hardly a defining character trait.

Have we talked about the red color scheme yet?

Ok, lets…

I love it!

Green and blue are passé by now, both for the character and film in general. The red, smoky, apocalyptic look makes Godzilla look like he crawled from the deepest bowels of hell to wreak vengeful wrath against the arrogance of man.

That is a subtle thing I hadn't noticed. Red and oranges keeps popping up throughout the trailer.
Definitely adds a fire & brimstone judgment day feel.
