The Empire cover looks like his teeth are uniform compared to some of the leaks.

Can someone tell me (without sounding like a crazy person or a troll or just a plain straight hater) where/how the "snouts" on any of these (with maybe a couple exceptions):
Image

looks DRASTICALLY different from this:

in such a way as to invite comparisons to GINO?

I always though the '84 design had a shorter snout out of most of the designs, but I love that one.

The Empire pic looks like a maquette more than anything. It's definitely Godzilla. The face is fine by me. The roar? Eh... It's Godzilla, but it's a little long. I'm sure the movie will have variations so I'm not worried about it. I prefer the deeper, growly sound of the early Heisei roars (89-91) but it's not bad.

So not to churn the rumor mill again, but supposedly now the next trailer may come tomorrow. Take with a grain of salt.

I think we will see a new trailer sooner rather than later.

The Empire cover is BAD-ASS. Must. Have. The new roar is interesting (I agree it should have been based around the 85-91 roar), but I'm sure it'll be awesome blasting our ears in the theater.

As to the comparisons of the back plates to GINO's, I can KINDA see what people are getting at. On Toho's Godzillas, the back plates have always had a more leafy, fanlike look to the nodes. This, and Gino's, backplates have a more vertical, stalagmite look. With that being said, do they bother me? Not in the slightest. Still looks like Godzilla to me... :D

To be fair about the roar, I felt the way about the Millennium G's roars as I do the new one. It's still plenty ferocious enough for me.

And yes, I guess if you predict a new trailer every day you will eventually get it right.

For whatever it's worth, that exact time and date are what the official Godzilla Twitter just tweeted, so something's happening!

The roar reminds me something that Hans Zimmer might make. Particularly the really long rising sound in the middle of it. It actually kind of makes me feel anxious, not necessarily frightening, but definitely with a sense of dread. Specifically, it reminds me of this cue from the Dark Knight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iy58-eLG6_I

Pretty good sounding in general. It's a new take so it's going to take me a while to fall in love with it, if at ever. My immediate reaction is that I like it more than the Millennium roars because they sounded too clean and in-organic. This at least sounds biological.

So now Legendary's confirmed that something's going down tomorrow. Maybe it won't even be the second trailer, it might be something different, but I'm hoping it's the former.
