After spending 6 hours on Wed in frustration of Metroid Prime's controls, I learned today that you can fix the ability to keep the auto aim as it was on the GC by turning off the option Auto Lock/Free Aim. I did not know this until someone said something to me on another board. I've spent the last 6-7 hours playing the game and I do not want to throw it out the window anymore. YAY!! I'm aiming to 100% complete the game like I did the first time I played through it on the GC otherwise I probably would have had it done by now. I just need one missile upgrade that I missed in the Chozo ruins and then I have everything I could get up to this point as I'm currently on my second venture through the Phazon mines (just got the Flame Thrower Plasma ability). God though, I hate the mines and am not looking forward to going through them.
EDIT:
I finished Metroid Prime 1 today with 100% completion. Oddly enough, the years have made Prime so much easier to beat as he was much easier than I remember. In fact, the only boss that was still a pain in the ass was the Omega Pirate. However, I had a moment where I wanted to scream at the game if it was insane or not as after I finished it, it asked if I wanted to save my data and erase all of my hard work with having to start over brand new. I was like, "OH HELL NO!!" and promptly pressed no because I am not losing my 100% completion data.
