I love the rough, leathery skin colour and texture they've gone with. It just looks perfect.

I've edited it so the composition is a better fit for a 16:9 wallpaper.



I took a vertical strip off the right side of the poster, then pasted it onto the left side, adjusted the brightness to fit, and then reworked the shapes of the clouds on the left side to hide the seam. This was pretty tricky due to the high level of grain in the image, so I'm not 100% satisfied with the result, but some tactical placement of destop icons can remedy that.

I didn't notice this, but from this angle you can see that the back of his neck has interlocking plates/scales which look similar to the 'gills' which is basically what I've hoped they were all along.

It looks like a guy in a suit! ... I mean that in the best possible way; it shows a design with very traditional Godzilla proportions.

Scales on the back of the neck look different from gills, but that's just me. I think we're still in the woods about it.

will any of you be getting movie related merchandise? And if so, what?

Artbooks? Novels? Comic books? Statues? Toys, and what kind?

As for me, it's no secret I'll be getting toys both the kids stuff and the collectors stuff like Monsterarts.

I am digging the idea of that artbook though. I would love to see what designs they had going before they decided to go with this design.

Art book, novel, comic have been on pre-order from Amazon since they were offered.
Will pick my favorite figure or two when they are revealed and order it. Plan on getting Ragone's
Tsuburaya book in April since I missed it when it was originally released.

I'll grab a few figures, easily the art book. It looks very enticing. I'll pass on the novel. Books based on movies rarely hold my attention.
