Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but Toho wanted the advertising of the Destroy All Monsters disc under the radar since it's yet to come out on bluray in Japan, right? Dueling markets and all. Makes sense, especially since Toho isn't profiting from the sales, but the rights given to Media Blasters. As long as their check clears, they're cool.
