As for the sub scene, that may have been scrapped if they indeed reduced the scale of the creatures, because I don't believe the MUTO at the airport could not hold a sub under it considering it would have had an issue lifting one of the larger jets on the tarmac.

I may be wrong but it didn't seem large enough to do that.

You know what would be creepy in regards to the gills???

If they open up like clams shells when he rises from the ocean and spits out excess water..Or how about with the water you see small marine life like fish or sharks that are spit out of his gills as he exits the water!!?

Or maybe when he gets angry and SKREEEONKS!!! they open up like a flower effect like the DILOPHOSAURUS does in Jurassic park...

Imagine how creeped out the kiddies would be if they seen that..
