Just finished Attack on Titan. Its one of the most frustrating Anime I've ever seen. The action scenes are awesome but there is so much filler and little is explained.

Finished Rune Soldier Louie, a very fun show.

Ordered on Second Spin: Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig Anime Legends.
It's a used copy (second spin specializes in this) got it for $18.

BTW I recently re-organized my collection to be alphabetical.
However I kept the series/movies of the same show together.
If I went by real ABC order stuff like My-Hime & Mai-Otome would be way apart.
Plus The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzimiya wouldn't be even close to the show.

If you guys/gals are interested it looks like Fry's is having another anime deal.

Buy one get one 50% off (equal or lesser value).
As usual it's on Funimation & Section 23 stuff (includes ADV, Maiden Japan, Sentai Pictures & Switchblade Pictures).
As usual you have to buy two of the same company to get the deal.
So 2 Funimation or 2 Section 23.

The sale goes from 12/20/13-1/9/14.
Should be online as well.

We picked up the first BD to a series called Michiko & Hachin and watched the first 8 episodes today. It was good. Not as amazing as Cowboy Bebop, but enjoyable nonetheless. Not to mention Funimation's dub is excellent as the cast sounds like they are Brazilian and not just Japanese in Brazil.

We also watched the first two episodes to Kill La Kill and yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, this isn't for me. I feel like the shows name is what it is because that is what it does to your brain cells.

Went through Broken Blade, while I did enjoy the mecha battles, and the animation was great.
Just something about the actual story seemed a bit rushed, or maybe just not well told.
Will watch it again later to decide if I want to keep it.

Also watching Hero Tales, which is pretty fun.
Up through the 2nd disc, and the political intrigue is gonna start.
Since one of the former "good guys" joined the "bad guys".
Mostly cause he thinks the main bad guy (who has a very strong resemblance to Dan "The Beast" Severn) is his dad.
Great action, some fun stuff, and a great dub.
This is definately a keeper.

Also on the 2nd disc of My Bride is a Mermaid, boy I forgot just how wacky & random this show is.
Obviously very funny & very silly.
But a ton of fun characters & situations.
Probably should have got it a lot sooner!

Due to the fact that my parents went out of town. I watched their house/cats, & I got to see the latest episode of Space Dandy.
It was pretty darn fun, and when it comes out on DVD/Blu-Ray (from Funimation) I will grab it.

Unfortunately I can't watch it at my apartment due to no cable (and very limited funds).

I also was flipping through the channel guide, and noticed some channel full of "shorts" and saw they were showing Ghost Hunt.

Went back to watching Hero Tales.
On disc 3.

It's still pretty decent, but the characters get annoying sometimes.

My g/f picked up the second set to Michiko & Hatchin yesterday. We watched the first 6 episodes on it and the show is starting to drag on for me. The plot is just stalling right now. There were some good episodes to be had here, but not as many compared to the first set. I hope the ending does not disappoint.

Also, I decided to buy the first 3 volumes of the Attack on Titan manga as I'm going to give the manga a shot before I even attempt to watch the anime again.

We finished Mitchiko & Hatchin today and I have to say that I am nothing short of disappointed. The first 11 episodes to the show were great. Then there were some okay episodes followed by some great ones again. The last several episodes were a let down and the ending was just down right insulting. It pretty much makes the entire series pointless and I do not like what the future held for Hatchin. I have no desire to ever watch the show again, which is a shame as there were some great stories told within it, but there was no need for this series to be anything more than 15 episodes. Overall, I give it a 4/10.

Watched Tenchi Muyo: War on Geminar. Tenchi type fun and giant robots, what's not to love? Working my way through Attack on Titan and Girls und Panzer. (Yeah, I know, a bit of dissonance between those two.)

Personally I can't wait till they combine those two halves of War on Geminar into a complete series.
Cause you know it's going to be way less than the $100 (about $50 each part ) they want for it.

As much as I love Tenchi, the only thing I ever spent that much on was the now way OOP Ultimate Edition of the first 2 OVA series. Which is still among the very rare breed of anime that got the THX seal on it.
If that was still sealed its worth over $300...

Kinda thinking about getting Girls Und Panzer, let me know if it's worth buying (wish Best Buy had it in stock, it says on Backorder. So I can't match their price at Fry's (has to be in stock to match).
I can match the former Buy.com at about $37 for the DVD version (Fry's has it at $45).

Finished Hero Tales, it was a fun show with fun characters.
Near the end they were trying to make us think the bad guy Keiro was really a nice guy.
Then they went "nope, he's a ruthless monster" and he became one.
He kills a bunch of people after becoming the Emperor (he drew the Sword of Rule thus he had the right to do so).
Them the good guys take him out pretty quickly.
Everybody lives happily ever after, with exception of the people who died of course.
The one thing that was odd, was that despite what looked like very fatal wounds to two of them, none of the good guys die.

Well I'm catching all of this on HULU, they have the Anime Network on there. I can barely afford to keep up with all the popular and live action films and tv shows I want to keep, so most of the anime I watch is on rental/streaming services. Between cable, Netflix, and HULU it's hard to find time to watch everything I want to see! A problem I wouldn't have believed I would have 10 years ago....

Anyone else watch Kill la Kill and catch the latest episode (17) and just drop their mouths at the end? I mean I kinda felt like something would happen, given by how the openers are portrayed, but DAMN! :o

Bought a sub-only anime in Taisho Baseball Girls, it was only $9.99 at Fry's.
With my discount it was about $9.75 after tax.

Heard it's pretty good, and I enjoyed the other girls playing baseball show Princess Nine.
Obviously this is a bit shorter, and possibly a bit less "drama" between some of the girls.

Finished Taisho Baseball Girls, it was fun, cute, heartwarming, and surprisingly low on fanservice.
As with these sports shows when it's girls vs boys, the boys end up winning.
However unlike Princess Nine, it's a very close game (the boys win by one point).
Also the boys did respect their abilities (unlike the other show I mentioned, where the guys are kinda jerks).

Any feedback on the show Tayutama?
I see it at work for about $16.

Yes, I am trying to "branch out" on sub-only or other shows I would not normally get.
As long as they are rather cheap.

So I decided to buy that Tayutama show, and so far it's pretty good.

It's a romantic comedy with supernatural elements.
Usual cute girls (and a somewhat clueless guy).
Kinda a harem mixed with demon fighting.

Up to episode 5 IIRC.

I finally finished the original Mobile Suit Gundam. Although it's true that elements of the show have not aged well - the animation isn't the smoothest, some of the dialogue is poorly handled, and the music, well, isn't what I would have expected for a sci-fi/action series - the core aspect of Mobile Suit Gundam is that it's a war story, told from the perspectives of rookies and veterans on the front lines, and it does so exceptionally. I was very surprised and impressed by how balanced the protagonists and antagonists were - in fact, very rarely did the "bad guys" seem bad; They were just men and women stuck on the opposing side, bound by duty to fight our heroes. Ramba Ral and Char are definitely among my favorite characters, and I loved the moments when the heroes and villains met outside of the war zone, with a surreal air of peace and tension. There were virtually no points in the show which were too fast or slow, and the suspense only continues to rise as the story progresses, culminating in the fantastic personal duels of the last few episodes. Admittedly, the final episode was somewhat rushed in resolution, but overall it was pretty much everything I could have hoped for.
Mobile Suit Gundam may show its age now, but I believe its characters and themes are timeless. This show fully deserves to be called a classic, and I highly recommend anyone who hasn't seen it yet to watch it very soon.

5/5 stars.

Finished Tayutama, it has a few sad moments around all the silly ones.
Definately a keeper (IE it seems like I could watch it several times).

Sold off these:

Broken Blade: The story was OK, but there was just something "missing" from the entertainment value.

Strike Witches Season 1 (DVD version): The reason was so I could buy the new SAVE version.
That version is a Combo Pack (like the 2nd season) and comes in a Blu-Ray sized case.
So I can fit it into the box that came with season 2 (which was also a Blu-Ray sized case/box).

BTW still kinda wondering why the heck Funimation (or anybody else for that matter) hasn't got the Strike Witches movie?

I also watched the Gatchaman OVAs from the '90s, man that version is so much better looking & not quite as annoying as the series (way too much teen agnst).

As well as Tenchi Muyo In Love (the first Tenchi movie). Still not quite as fun as the show (it's actually kinda serious & a bit depressing) but overall a good movie.
BTW why hasn't Funimation grabbed either the Mihoshi/Pretty Sammy Special or Magical Project S (they could even dub it since it was never dubbed for some odd reason, and that came out during the height of Tenchi's popularity in the USA)?
