UPDATE: 2014 POLL

www.tinyurl.com/ly6ljfp

This link will take you to the comments section of the poll. To further help Tamashii Nations gather appropriate data, I would like to encourage you to leave a little comment of maybe the top 3 monsters you voted for, what age demographic you fall in (i.e. 20-30's, 40-50's, etc), and a realistic/fair idea of the price you would expect to pay for these figures. These are suggestions, but any sort of comment regarding your vote, and why the selected monsters are important to you, should suffice. If you've already voted, you can still leave a comment.

The main thing about the poll that confuses me is how Super Godzilla ranks so much more highly than Bagan! Bagan, since he has no single design and with the cult following he's earned, I would have thought would totally be near the top, not the thing that looks like a rejected Space Godzilla concept. At any rate, I voted for neither and would never buy either, and that's fine since I couldn't fathom Toho or Bluefin taking those suggestions seriously, especially not pricing them at $200 (what the hell?).

I'm surprised I saw no option for Kiryugoji at all.

It's easily in my top 5 Godzilla designs (Godzilla 64, Godzilla 62, Godzilla 84, Godzilla 2000 being the other 4).

This Bagan and Super Godzilla crap has gotten so old by this point, and it's frustrating to see dozens upon dozens of pages of MA discussion revolve around this stuff over at TK.

Tasmashii should distance themselves from that site for a little while and look around the internet at other boards and FB groups, to see what other parts of the collector community are saying about this. At most everywhere else I go that isn't TK, just about everyone thinks this is ridiculous. They're finally managed to nab the older collector demographic with Biollante, and a lot of people I know are looking forward to Battra. Personally, Bagan and Super Godzilla could easily ruin this line. It doesn't matter if these characters have never been done before. For every one person who decides to drop $100 on these guys, there'll be a whole bunch who saves their money because the monsters never even appeared in a movie.

Let me put it this way, I would rather buy the skeleton version of the original Godzilla before I buy Bagan and Super Godzilla.

FFS... i just did a quick google search on the Skeleturtle and my pictures showed up on TK's forum... some user named 'Kikaida' posted my pictures 3 days after i posted them here claiming that he just "just received one of the most arcane Godzilla figures ever licensed..." in their "new purchases" thread! I don't know why that annoys me as much as it does... Maybe he did get it right after me and just really liked the lighting on my back deck.. i really should never visit that forum..

I think there could be a way to placate some of those people who beg for some kind of Super Godzilla or Bagan like a limited run vinyl from one of the retro companies (which are ALWAYS really small runs anyway). But going the Monsterarts route is a really bad idea. It's a really expensive line to develop for.

Heh if someone had some real ambition they'd create a 3rd party company and do monsterarts styled figures of them and call them something else and change up their design. Call them Overdemon and Supersaurus (like the Transformers community does), but alas Bagan's fanboys have neither the ambition or brains to do something like that.

I really got nothing against Bagan or Supergodzilla themselves (I think Elephant Bagan is a much cooler, Lovecraftian concept really), but damn it the cult pretty much does more damage to their own image, and something like this can ruin the image of the fandom overall even further.

As I said before, even if a Supergodzilla or Bagan got announced, that little cult of theirs has the potential to torpedo their own release knowing the nature of that part of the fandom.

I would buy a Bagan figure if it was made. No joke; I really would.

But that does not mean I think it should be made. Ever. Especially when there are sooooo many more deserving, ACTUAL characters who have gone without a figure.

I got my replacement G2000 in today and he is much much better than the one I had quality wise. His tail does not fall apart and there is nothing jiggling inside of his legs.

In other news, I had ordered Jr and for some reason UPS brought him to CO only to ship him to SD so now I have to wait until Friday for him to arrive.   I understand mistakes happen, but you would think they would fix it by shipping my package back to CO OVERNIGHT!!!

So I ordered my first SHMA in almost a year; Biollante and I think I'm going to send her back for a replacement. When I had her out to inspect her I could barely move the vines with out them falling off a ball joint. Is this normal or do I have a "bad" figure?
