If you're going to do a TV spot for the Super Bowl, it needs to be unique to the event. It can't just be a long TV spot or a short trailer.

An example would be GINO's brilliant ad for NYE. Countdown – 5…4…3..2…*STOMP* (Giant Times Square ball comes crashing down, Godzilla's tail in the sky).

Do something people will be talking about. Otherwise, don't waste your ad budget.

^If they were to do a Super Bowl spot that would really stick out it would be something like Godzilla actually attacking the Super Bowl! Needless to say, that would cost a whole lot of money - plus the millions it takes to actually buy ad-time.

And hopefully on February 7 will get a trailer that will hopefully show off the monsters in better detail.

I wish I could just knock myself out until the midnight release of the film. That would be sweeeeeeeet.

The wait sucks but Im also extremely curious about the marketing and how the movie will be presented to the general audience. So the buildup and trailers, posters, interviews etc. are kind of rewards in and of themselves from my perspective. I, like most here, have been waiting forever for a good big budget adaptation, so Im going to savor every aspect until its release. Then Im gonna go see this effer 10 times when its finally out.

^The build-up is both exciting and painful. Especially when half the fandom keeps whining about how there's no new trailer/picture/announcement every day of the week until the movie's release. With that in mind, being knocked out until the midnight release would be preferable. Of course I would wake to myself being evicted, but hey! Godzilla's arrive!

I think the general movie-loving population is ready for Godzilla. I feel like this is going to be huge.
