Looks like we're getting closer.

Whomever posted the link for this website, thank you. I kinda like it. So, it looks like the Sting/WWE relationship is almost a done deal. I know some are gonna wonder which version of Sting we're gonna get. Something like...

This?

This?

Or this?

I see another WWE merchandise boom because of the "Stinger."

I wish I had posted my predictions for the Rumble, because 3 of my 4 finalists were in the final four and my predicted winner won.

I only thought it would be Del Rio instead of Sheamus, because I felt like Del Rio and Batista have kinda a minor thing so when they looked around and saw the 4 left, Reigns and Punk would have fought and Del Rio and Batista would have fought.

Crowd did NOT seem too happy about Sheamus or Batista though...

I think the crowd rooted for Reigns because:
-He's gotten ridiculously over in the recent months, with another weapon (the superman punch) added to his arsenal, and his manhandling of everyone at Survivor Series.
-He performed a mini face turn (hopefully the WWE has the stones to keep with it) by turning on Rollins and Ambrose
-Nobody wants Batista/Orton or Batista/Cena because it's been there, done that.

Honestly, I'm of mixed minds on that last point...

The way I'm choosing to see things is that I'll care about a CM Punk match at WM no matter what the stipulation because I love CM Punk, same with Daniel Bryan, and more or less the same with Roman Reigns, so to me, none of their matches really require the title. For me to care about Batista vs. Orton/Cena (I'm convinced Cena will win Elimination Chamber and then beat Orton in a rematch on Raw) the title kinda needs to be there because I otherwise don't see much at stake.

but I think Roman Reigns is insanely over right now and I am excited to see where his story goes (the more I watch this guy, the more and more I'd be 100% satisfied if he faced Taker and won). HHH-CM Punk seems like it could be cool because it'll call back to Stone Cold vs. McMahon AND it feels like a bit of unfinished business from the whole "conspiracy" storyline back when HHH and Punk faced off and then had that sort of uneasy tag team matchup with AwesomeTruth. As for Bryan, I would love to see him in the title picture, but I'll probably enjoy whatever feud he gets placed into for Mania. Much as I think the rumors of Bryan-Sheamus kinda stink because, been there, done that, I also am really hoping Sheamus does go on a heel run; I prefer heel Sheamus.

For a really brief moment... I was thinking we'd have a face Roman Reigns vs Heel Randy Orton at WM30...

I really thought they would do it for a split second.

bah...

Reaction to the Rumble has been pretty crappy. Mick Foley and Lance Storm have not been kind to the event, even though they were really eager to see it before.

Sucks really.

As for Punk being eliminated, I wonder what that was all about. I keep hearing he is retiring this year. But why? He's the number two wrestling star in the whole world (Cena is listed as No. 1, Punk 2, and Hiroshi Tanahashi at 3)! Maybe he's just tired... I expect next year's rankings will have Punk displaced to 3 or 4, and Daniel Bryan at no. 2 or 1

Punk has said in the past that he doesn't want to be one of those guys wrestling into his 40s and has thrown out the age 35 as a random possible retirement age. Also, his contract is up in July.

Personally, I'd hope the company could lock him in for at least one more year and give him a nice run before allowing him to just walk away somewhat irrelevantly.

As for Reigns, I am loving where he's headed right now, but I want to see him on his own for a bit before seeing him thrust into the main event scene. Let him break away from the Shield, have a feud with an upper-mid-carder (Sheamus? Brock?), and see how he does. THEN he can have a title shot.

Am I the only one who is not that excited about Batista being back? I just can't get into him the way I was before he left 4 years ago.

The fans took a massive dump on the Cena/Orton match. They actually made it pretty entertaining......same for the rumble. Daniel Bryan is crazy over right now and they don't want to see Batista have a spot main eventing mania. The fans booed for the remainder of the match once Rey hit the ring. It was hilarious. The Wyatt/Bryan match was the match of the night IMO and I enjoyed Lesnar beating down the Big Show but the rest of the PPV was a major dissappointment.

I thought it was overall entertaining. Some things about the Rumble aside from no Bryan really stuck in my craw though:

Why does Kane need to be an entrant and unceremoniously bounced, or El Torito when there are already "comedy" entrants like JBL, or the Bulgarian Barbarian or whatever the hell that NXT guy was, or Great Kahli and his inability to even walk let alone wrestle...?

Especially when they leave out guys like Titus O'Neil, Wade Barrett, Brodus Clay (aka, token "too big to get out" guy), Christian (is he hurt again? I dunno), Darren Young, Sin Cara (could have served roughly the same purpose as El Torito, but without being a JOKE), and of course Bryan.

I'm fine with Batista winning, I'm fine with where Punk is headed, I'm fine with what's happening between Cena and the Wyatts (though it's gonna be BEYOND IRRITATING if the Wyatts run roughsod on Bryan only to have Super Cena dismantle them), and I'm fine with just about everything right now....except that I have NO IDEA what's next for Daniel Bryan...

The dream matchup of him vs Stone Cold seems even more appropriate now.

(._. ) Wow. Color me surprised. I thought this was a rumor, but damn yeah.

Well... I don't blame him.

heh, my friend is saying "Watch him take time off until his contract expires and then he shows up at the G-1 Climax" Oh, I wish. That'd be nice, seeing him feud with Hiroshi Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom 9....

But alas, I do think Punk is leaving wrestling altogether for good.

In regards to Sting; I read that the current rumor is he might be signing a Legends deal, doing the typical Legends stuff (promoting merchandise, convention appearances, a few matches a year), and have the Sting vs Undertaker angle be saved for next year, while they make him familiar to the younger audience and get him back in shape.

So is anyone going to invest in WWE Network? I think I might get it for the price ($10 a month) you can beat that.
