Is the smash cut like a trasition?

Also on another note I think Godzilla's a time lord his look has changed so much and he always comes back when we think he's dead!(Just a joke)

A smash cut is a cut meant to shock or surprise the audience: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smash_cut.

Snowdenzilla, I was curious as to whether this script draft has any built-in iconic Godzilla appearance sequences? When he arrives in the 1950s, it would be a great nod to the original if we saw him looking over a hillside, and afterwards perhaps the military covers up signs of his appearance by erasing his footprints on a beach. If I recall correctly, his return in the present time is caused by the MUTOs calling him, so do we get reveals such as seen in the poster where his dorsal fins are slicing through the water near a US naval battle group? What is his first appearance to the public, when the media get involved? Might it be the Hawaii attack? His arrival in San Francisco should be dramatic as well. Edwards will surely have much input as to these scenes in the actual film, but I wondered if this draft attempted to present powerful imagery that might either refer to classic Godzilla moments in past films or may be new great icons to add to the canon?

He does the giant water fall thing a lot ala GMK.

I was bummed about a lack of the hill scene personally. As a director, I would have been chomping at the bit to recreate at least that iconic moment. Who knows?

GMK had a wonderful recreation of the hill scene, and having Godzilla smash through the hill and cause an avalanche was the perfect enhancement of that classic moment. Kaneko did a great job with that film.

Interesting read. Im definitely glad they aged up Ford and Elle along with changing the nature of their relationship. Some of the interaction came off as Orci and Kurtzman-ish a la Transformers.

I see they're like the two biggest photos. The last few are actually similar until gmk ruins the streak.

Well, comparing him to other designs... The spines are woefully small.

The design as a whole is alright, but I find it boring.

I dislike the body shape, small spines and snubbed nose.

Toy looks great to me, love the eyes. Small spines are probably added to make if fit in whatever package it comes in. Either way, looks nice. Will buy.

Now someone leak the "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" Mutos!

that toy is a horribly inaccurate representation of G14. neck is to short, spines to small, chest to big.

Plus its not even assembled or anything and the feet look horrible the color is off. To wrap it up this toy flaws at a level no one can comprehend.
