I know this is posted on forbes.com...but it's written by an idiot who has a tenuous at best grasp on the English language.

aside from the slew of run-on sentences, there are gems such as:
I got lots of emails on one of the movies Godzilla.
some of the biggest, most costliest misfires in cinema history were released

and a lot of his "Fact" about Godzilla's box office non-clout are misleading at best (and outright false at worst).
Gills.

Forbes has a platform for bloggers to get viewership. Both this and the Silicon Angle article have the same author. This is click baiting at its finest, and one person's opinion alone. He is not a movie analyst, he can just pay for a soapbox.

Also what the f@ck is negative cost? They got money turning production and are actually in the green?

On the other hand, Wall St. Cheat Sheet says that Godzilla is one of 10 films that could rock the box office in 2014:

Of course, they also call Godzilla a "gorilla monster".

Seems everyone is having a hard time telling or agreeing on how this movie will do-- it's like it's baffled everyone in the industry to run one way or the other on a stance. To be honest I can't really tell how it will do either.

The thing I decided before it looked like Pacific Rim was going to bomb was that we're getting the movie regardless. At this point no one can take this new movie away from us. We're getting it and that's that. Do I want it to succeed? Yes. Do I want sequels out of it? Yes. But jumping ahead is never good anyway. The fact that people were complaining a sequel was unlikely before they even saw the movie was ridiculous on so many levels. It's like they let it ruin their enjoyment for it. Like Pacific Rim, I'm focused on my excitement for this movie and I'm going to get to see it and own it no matter how it does. So I'll enjoy it while I can and, hopefully, I love it.

Lets just say for now it'll be Nuetral, nothing to good or bad and come to terms when the movie actually comes out we'll determine wether it was good or not.

I just hope G14 has rewatchability parallel to Pacific Rim. I didn't even know about that movie until the trailers came out and loved it. I saw it a couple times in theatres and several times on bluray.

Pacific Rim? Yea, it would be nice to have Godzilla be like that.

Some peoples opinions may differ but I found the entire first transformers movie enjoyable after that it went down hill, in my opinion.

I expected a lot more out of Del Toro/Pacific Rim than I got. I definitely enjoyed it for what it was and am in no way bashing but was left underwhelmed by the story and surprised by the hamfisted comedy and clichés utilized. It definitely does have good rewatch value though, the spectacle and subject matter alone seal that for me. I think Godzilla will blow it out of the water on all fronts though (fingers crossed).

No weight or impact?

WHAT?!?! That's one of the things I LOVED about the movie. Everything moves with a sense of its scale and weight. Nothing just flips around on a dime. The jaegers take time to get moving, the kaiju move with a real sense of bulk.

It's the minor details that make Pacific Rim shine. I hope I enjoy Godzilla as much. Then I can have my Avengers/Dark Knight of monster movies.

Why do you guys even pay attention to crap like the MTV poll or this Forbes/Silicon Angle stuff? It has no effect whatsoever on the film overall -- there is absolutely nothing about these things which will affect the outcome of the release of this film. Are you just bored or do you genuinely think this stuff is worth talking about? There's nothing of substance here, I don't understand the logic behind caring about such miniscule things.

For the legacy of Godzilla lets hope this movie doesn't flop. I don't honestly think it can. I mean seriously its a reboot of one of the longest(hope I'm not wrong there) running and most popular film franchises of all time. The moment the live-marketing(by that I mean toys, ads, a tv spots) starts more people hopefully will want to see it.
