Uhh, Gigan actually is about Kiryu's pricepoint. That says 10584 yen, not 15084. Kiryu's Japanese retail price was 10290 yen, and because both those prices include Japanese sales taxes, the actual cost is lower. Combined with the stronger exchange rate, that's how Kiryu ended up retailing for $96.99 via Bluefin. Gigan will probably cost $99.99 or so domestically.

Very nice to see that we get both modes of Gigan with the one figure!

$100 seems fair since we are getting both sets of arms and heads.

My only problem is that he will be out at the same time as Mothra and Battra.

Good thing I'm wrong! I misread that as $150...

Yeah, thats great considering we're getting both modes of Gigan. It's rather perfect really. This blows that Chogokin out of the water.

How would the add-on parts work I wonder.

Really easily! Probably exactly the same way the Chogokin Gigan worked. Plugs for the arms, removable ball-jointed head, either a whole alternate head or swappable mandibles and top head crest, et voilà! Power-Up Gigan.

I will stick with the Chogokin figure for now. I had the Chogokin figure since X-Mas 2005 when it was new at the time and I love it ever since then. If it's a web exclusive then we might not see it release here. Sometimes Bluefin can't release exclusives in the US like the renewal version of D-Arts Wargreymon and the Kamen Rider exclusive figuarts for example.

Gigan is a mass retail item and is even on the frontpage of tamashii.jp and their . The Tamashii Web logo under his name is because the scan cuts off the box of yellow Tamashii Web exclusives that Figure-Oh includes every month.

Also, Bluefin can't import Tamashii Web Exclusives if the license they have with Bandai and the original licensor don't allow it, or if they don't have enough time or justification to make it happen. The Digimon license worked out that way, and Bluefin has never been able to justify Kamen Rider exclusives for the North American market. Godzilla is entirely different in that it sells so much better to this market, we get things at mass retail that Japan only gets as exclusives, and only Power Rangers and Dragonball Z (EDIT: forgot Tiger & Bunny) get a similar treatment. The only reason we never got Garuda or the G-Force/effects set is this deal was established after those two came out. Even if Gigan was an exclusive, we'd have gotten it.

Basically since the US Market is overall larger, and we have a larger following of Godzilla fans you can expect almost all Godzilla related Monsterarts being released here as normal retail

In fact, I would not be surprised if the Garuda and JSDF sets get reissues in the future, they would be released here in the states.

I expect cool things here next year, especially with the new movie.

Hmm... Interesting question. Would a Monsterarts of LegendGoji be released here first, or in Japan? And would it be an exclusive over there?

I've been meaning to ask this for a while, but does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix Ghidorah's saggy wing? Here are shots I took of it but I'm not exactly sure how to fix it.

It looks like the one side is sagging because the hole the wings fit through is too big on that side. If you can suggest anything, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Because of how things had to work out, we had our Xmas party with our friends today instead of tomorrow as initially planned. As such, here are some pics of my newest MA along with their respective slideshows:

Godzilla 64: http://s1366.photobucket.com/user/DrKainn/slideshow/MonsterArts/Godzilla%201964

This guy is pretty cool. I love how high his legs can split, but I do not like how big the gap is in his spines when you lean his body forward. I like the way they did it so much better on the Burning Godzilla and wished they had stuck to doing it similar to that way. Overall, a very nice sculpt for an incredible monster, in fact, excluding the original, this is easily my favorite suit of the Showa era.

Kiryu: http://s1366.photobucket.com/user/DrKai ... Arts/Kiryu

Kiryu is pretty awesome from a sculpt, but as an articulated figure, I am a bit disappointed. His legs barely have any posseability to them at all and I have no idea how to get the spine piece that is around his stomach to lock into place as it keeps jiggling around. The fact that he comes with his back pack is awesome though.

I got a Destroyah this evening, and I'm wondering, did anybody else have trouble connecting the torso to the lower body? I get it to snap together, but the moment it moves a bit it comes loose. Is it not meant to move at all?

Amazon is out of stock for almost all the SHMAs which is really weird and possibly a good thing. I was browsing prices earlier tonight and Kiryu is at $103 plus shipping from some seller :\

It's a bad thing for me wanting to get a cheap MonsterArts on sale this year. Especially now that I have gift cards handy... but otherwise, I think it's a good thing, sure! Speaks to some small success, at least, but the continues to be on sale for $67.96.

What's not so great is the unnecessary delay in getting Biollante in stock.

Amazon's prices are wonky right now because they're out of most of the SHMAs so they're listing prices for 3rd party sellers. They should be getting Biollante in stock the end of this week or early next week. Speaking of which next week marks the 1 year mark for me getting my first SHMA it's hard to believe that it's been a year. Sadly though I haven't gotten any thing since Febuary by that time I got burnt out on buying them but as more figures got annouced my interest got renewed.

I haven't gotten any MonsterArts yet (GF and roomies are opening gifts on Thursday, and my mom has been sick so we're hoping to do a family gift thing this weekend) but my girlfriend's gift for me seems to be the right shape and size for a MonsterArts box, I hope it's Morguera or Godzilla '64. It's too small for Junior or Little G, too big for either Destroyah or Biollante (and too expensive as well).

But after the holidays I'm saving up for Biollante. As much as I want a WiiU, I can hold off for awhile maybe get it when Smash Bros 4 comes out, or the real next Zelda game.
