Hook - Man I love this movie. Sure it has some issues, like Tink makes the three day deal with Hook and Peter falls into the water and winds up in the Lost Boy's best tree fort ever and she's suddenly there, but sleeping in her house. WTF Tink, way to make sure Peter doesn't, ya' know, die. But all "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" issues are swept under the rug by everything else. Great hammy performances by Dustin Hoffman and Bob Hoskins. John William's astounding score. And the sets! My god these sets are beautiful. This movie really makes me sad about the prevalence of green screen in movies now. I mean, I get it, they can do so much more, but there's a charm in seeing actual people, not CG or superimposed people, on a large amusement park like set.

I mean look at that!

The Golden Voyage of Sinbad

I think John Phillip Law makes a pretty strong Sinbad (too bad he didn't come back for the next one). Kali is my favorite Harryhausen creature here, and my favorite sequence of the film. It's a simple story, but the kind I find hard not to like: gaggle of heroes wanders about and are challenged by various monsters. That's all you really need!

I love the way Harryhausen designs his monsters. He goes beyond the conventional takes of mythological characters and makes them his, much in the same way the classic illustrators would.

Frozen - All the previews I've seen of this movie looked absolutely dreadful. Ignore all the ads, this movie is fantastic! Great songs, humor that doesn't rely on fart jokes and rarely falls flat (and the snowman was actually a good character and not just a vehicle for annoying childish humor), and a damn good story.

I dunno, heard Frozen was good but halfway through I was bored.

Hook was great...loved it as a kid and Rufio makes me sad :?

The Hobbit 2 - Say what you want about Jackson turning this single book into three movies (not sure how that is any different from a Game of Thrones book being turned into 10 hour long episodes, but no one complains about it) the man once again proves how much he loves Tolkien. It does to Journey what Two Towers did to Fellowship as this movie is just down right fantastic! It is fun, has excellent looking creatures in it, and a great score to boot. The only stuff I will say the movie detracted from is that Legolas is still Mr Perfect in everything he does, but now that I know he is the son of a king, it kind of makes sense that that is how he was raised to be (especially with how much of a douche his father is). Oh, and a romance between a Dwarf and an Elf felt forced. Other than that though, this movie is so fast paced I thought it was only halfway through when it ended. I cannot wait until July for the next one as it is going to be great!! If you found the first one to suck (which makes you soul less (JK)) or you just hate Jackson just because he does good things, then you will not like this movie so go see something else and save yourself a bitchfest. However, if you are a fan of the first movie and LotR in general, there is no reason you would not enjoy this one. I give Desolation of Smaug a 9/10. Oh, and the only thing I felt the movie needed was Smaug saying, "Elementary my dear boy." :-p

Oh yeah, and we did not get the Godzilla or Interstellar trailers. Instead we got another Onimusha, Smitty, and Divergence trailers. -_-

First good review of the hobbit I've seen. Considering the source, I'll still pass (not meant to be a personal jab, but how often do you and I agree? )

All the reviews I've seen have been mostly positive. I'm going tomorrow to see it.

Hopefully I get the Godzilla trailer as well.

Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger

No way of getting around it: this is a second rate Sinbad movie. The script, acting (despite Troughton's best efforts), even direction and editing seemed rushed and clunky. Trog's cool, though.

Pacific Rim - I borrowed it from my friend since I am in a Godzilla mood and want to watch all things Kaiju. It was a bit better than when I first saw it in the theater, but there were also things that bothered me more this time around (like the ever changing accent to no accent on Rally). Ron Perlman is still the best thing about the movie's characters and the Kaiju themselves are pretty awesome, especially the flying one. The action is fantastic, the effects are incredible, but the plot and character development is just so damn stupid. I'm staying with my 7/10 score, but out of all of the movies I have given a 7 to that came out this year, Pacific Rim is by far the best of them all. As for people clamoring for MonsterArts, while I can see why, but I myself probably would not buy them due to their price unless they were to fit well with my Godzilla ones.

The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug -

Saw it, enjoyed it, and...well that's about it. It doesn't strike me as something I would want to see repeatedly but I'm glad I got to see it tonight.

The Wolverine (3D, normal cut)- I decided to watch the normal cut first since it's the only 3D version of the film in the big set. I thought the movie was good not as good as First Class or X2 but good. In a few weeks after I get setteled into my new place going to watch the exteneded cut. The post credit scene was amazing can't wait for Days of Future Past.

Agreed. First Class is my favorite X-Men movie. The Wolverine was pretty good because they kept it on a small scale with a small cast. Sadly, I felt its last quarter was down right stupid.
