https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJYY9dqhmvg apparently the people reviewing trailers at AMC want the entire movie shown in 2 minutes. Whatever happened to a teaser teasing? Besides THEY SHOWED THE DAMNED MONSTER! Why watch a movie if everything worth watching is revealed in the trailer?

"We" are all spoiled with getting previews of the whole movie. Kudo's to LP for keeping a wrap on this movie. I've known about since 2010 and I STILL don't know a thing about the story or what a battle is going to be like.

Nearly 5 million views in just over 24 hours. Not bad....

Just out of curiosity, does anybody know the second piece of music used in the trailer? Ever since the cellphone version I thought it sounded like the Joker's theme from The Dark Knight, but am not sure.

Someone at TK mentioned Spider-Man 2 had 6 million views and Godzilla 5 million within the same time period.
If that's true, I think it's a good thing. Also, my brother said the trailer looked great and he's a non fan as well.

I'm really glad all they showed was Godzilla.
It saves things for the movie and/or other trailers. Though I'd like them to hold off on the atomic ray until the film proper, if they can.

He could also be a nephew. A family member that grew up idolizing his uncle that saved Japan.

I really like the Japanese poster for the film. Everything has been great for me about the film... I've felt nothing negative thus far. Can't wait for the reveal of the other kaiju .

So far it feels like a standalone Godzilla film, bu then have to remind myself that another kaijus origin begins in this film... love this feeling.

Legendary's no longer lists Frank Darabont as one of the screenwriters. It simply says "Edwards directs from a screenplay by Max Borenstein, story by David Callaham and Max Borenstein."

I wonder what changed. Maybe as the film has been edited they've removed most of Darabont's contributions, or maybe this is just a case of Writer's Guild of America rules stipulating that he didn't contribute enough to receive on-screen credit.

I'm willing to bet it's the latter. IIRC, the WGA is very strict about who receives credit for what. Unless Darabont did a heavy overhaul of the script, I don't think he could receive much in the way of credit. Wasn't he the one who was tapped to 'age up' the characters from the previous scripts?

Gotcha. Either way, I can see how the WGA might be preventing him (and Pearce, too) from receiving full screenwriting credit.

I've been away from the site for a while. Has it been mentioned that the Latin word Muto has many meanings, mainly: to change, alter / exchange; and how that may give a hint to the organizations role?
