Yup. Rodan it is. The first Toho non Godzilla movie I saw as a kid and made me appreciate Japanese monster movies that much more. Lots of great wire work in this one.

Damn! that looks like it would hurt. I wonder how many times they shot this to get it just right?





Even as a kid, I noticed the actors legs in this shot.

Yup. Monster Zero. Always a fun Godzilla film to watch. It takes a little while for the monster action to start, but once it does, it's almost non-stop. Lots of monster destruction scenes with Godzilla, Rodan, and King Ghidorah, some nice close-ups of the monsters, and the one Godzilla film with THE most visible wires!

Yawwwwwwwn. Time for some action.

Interesting bit of trivia: This film really is the first time Godzilla's breath takes on a more beam-like quality, which would very soon become the norm for the series. Took six films to get to something that everyone THINKS OF as being "essential" to the character.

@Jelly - I guess to me, those shots in KK look pretty beam like. If that's what you're talking about, we have no disagreement. Typically the hand puppet shots have more of the gas look IIRC.
