I got into Godzilla collecting with gashapon and candy toys and have sinced moved on to everything and anything else as well... but i FINALLY got two figures from a series i never really had any interest except for these two darlings:

The millennium alien and spaceship! I think these are the only known representations of these characters in toy form, but i'd love to be wrong about that.

I had planned on skipping the SHMA G'64, but i was able to pick it up for 40... so later when i get around to unboxing it, we'll see if the articulation bothers me as much as it did in the promo shots.

My friend gave me the NECA Striker Eureka figure for my birthday. I really like it. The sculpt and paint are quite nice and, while it doesn't compare to a monsterarts, the articulation is still quite good with a nice range of motion. But I definitely see why people say the things they do about NECA figures and their durability. The soft plastic definitely feels like it could tear at the joints if you're not careful. This is particularly noticeable at the shoulders where an unusual double joint system results in a part that is particularly thin but also subject to significant stresses when moving the shoulders. Which makes it all the more frustrating that the outermost of the double joints on one shoulder is stuck on my figure. I've tried freezing and heating it but have been unable to break it loose and it feels like I've gotten very close to tearing the whole arm off at the shoulder a couple of times. I think I'm going to just resign myself to having a single working joint on that shoulder. Fortunately the joint that does work is the more critical of the two so I'm not losing that much poseability. And at least all the other joints (including the complete other shoulder) work fine. Overall I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5. I think it's strictly an issue of the material they chose to make the figure with that causes the issues. Made from a more durable, sturdier plastic and I'd easily call this a 4 or 4.5 out of 5. It's certainly made me want to get Gypsy Danger and Cherno Alpha now. And, dang it, we need an Otachi!!

Also, my local comic shop had an awesome Halloween sale yesterday. You had to be in costume to get the discount, which of course made for some good fun. Everything in the store was at least 25% off and some up to 50%. I got the S.H. Monsterarts Burning Godzilla for $65. I remember being very excited by it when the first images of the sculpt came out and then disappointed by the uneven reviews it got when it came out. But now that I have it in hand I really like it a lot. I will say that reading plenty of reviews and having had a chance to really absorb all the complaints people had about it before I got my hands on it helped temper my expectations so that I'm not distracted/annoyed but the shortcomings and can really enjoy where the figure shines. The sculpt is great. The articulation is much improved from the 94 version. The gaps at the hips and waist are easily minimized if you take just a little care when posing it. The burning effect is really nice. Now I REALLY want the Destroyer Evolution set.

Wish I could post pics but my digital camera broke recently. Maybe I'll post some crappy cell phone pics later.

Got these guys today. They're bigger than I thought they'd be, especially Destroyah.

It's BBTS Day!

THIS IS A PIECE OF "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!"! THE VINYL IS A MILLION TIMES BETTER! THE POSEABILITY IS POINTLESS AND THE CHOGOKIN CAPTURES THE PROPORTIONS BETTER! ALSO WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS USELESS ARTICULATION?!

Psyche. 8)

This is easily the best figure in the line. Good accessories. Great Poseability! Great molding. Great weight. It's an overall excellent figure. The tail is especially well done.

"HOLY CRAP! YOU'RE OUR HERO!"

Sailor Moon is here. I hope to complete the entire core team, the same way I plan to complete the Smile Pretty Cure team so I can have them posed beside each other. I plan to do the same with Zyuranger/MMPR and Kyoryuger.

"Not today Vile. Not today."

Vile fulfills his role as chew toy, with my new Ultimate Armor Megaman X D-Arts.

A bike and a waifu rolled into one! She just has that... bad case of PTSD.. Yeah, I did not like the Hasbro deco so I ended up getting the one from the GO! Toyline. Hooray for Hunter Arcee!

Not sure that he has any left to sell at this point, but worth asking.

BTW, I'm kind of glad I did get them as a trade. It is impossible to put them on without getting fingerprints on them and they come out bubbly no matter how smooth I try to lay it on the stand.

It's pretty great. I wonder if they'll upgrade the Knifehead body at all for the Axehead release?
Also, this makes me SUPER stoked for what the gigantic Knifehead will be like.

Wow that is NEATO! By any chance, do you know how the PR kaiju scale against the Monsterarts SDF Robots? Got a size comparison?
