I pretty sure Muto is an alternate spelling for a Japanese surname. (Mutoh is also a spelling, I think.) I'm wondering if the monster is named after a Japanese character who discovered the monster.

Hopefully mutos is a collective term and the individual kaiju get their own monikers like reptilipede and what not.

Perhaps "Muto" is a name for the various mutant monsters Goji might encounter.

Yeah my money is on a collective name for the monsters overall at the moment. It reminds me Genesis of the Daleks where "Mutos" was a collective term for the mutated/irradiated people who lived out in the wastelands of Skaro. But it could certainly by a Legion-type thing too. Guess we'll find out.

I don't see why people are worried Godzilla won't have his breath in this movie. Everything up till now shows they understand and care about this Godzilla movie. The thought never occurred to me they would leave out his atomic breath.

Toys usually leak really damn early. It's kinda been the norm. February is a safe bet for sure. I wouldn't be surprised though if we see some kind of solicitations by December/January.

Its kinda how it rolls in the toy world. For example folks on the internet know by late December what kind of new designs and toys for the new Rangers and Pretty Cure shows from Bandai that air in February/March.

The general public though (casuals etc) aren't officially shown two or three months later. Just a few weeks before it starts. Toys take a lot of planning. Designing, distribution etc. They eventually leak. heh probably from China.

Me? I think it'll sink. As is expected of kaiju films in Japan.

It depends on the film's quality I think. I think its success/failure in Japan will very much mirror what happens in the US.
