In addition to movies, I've been watching an episode of Treehouse of Horror once a day:
1:
Bad Dream House - a cool Amityville parody and has some good moments
Hungry are the Damned - the introduction of Kang and Kodos, and possibly the most memorable installment of the special.
The Raven - I dig it. A cool Simpsonified version of the Poe tale., complete with the poetic wordplays
^Overall, it's a decent start to the Treehouse of Horror series, especially considering where The Simpsons as a whole was at the time. I like that it actually starts inside a treehouse.
2:
Lisa's Dream, The Monkey's Paw - I love the opening scenes in Morocco, which play out almost just like any normal Simpsons episode would at the time.
Bart's Dream, It's a Good Life - Another episode with a great opening. All the stuff with Bart changing Jasper and Snowball is great.
Homer's Dream, Frankenbot - This one has some of my favorite moments, specifically and especially when Burns performs surgery on Homer.
^A great step forward for the Treehouse series, and the framing story is very fun.
3:
Clown without Pity - "Someone set this thing to evil." What a great line, and a great segment. The first signs of Patty's lesbianism (though it's a non-canon episode)
King Homer - i love this. I love all the references and i really love when he tries to climb the Empire State Building.
Dial 'Z' for Zombies - The Simpsons do zombies, and it works wonderfully.
^Another GREAT one. Some of these are regularly quoted and referenced when speaking of The Simpsons in general and not just the Treehouse series.
4:
The Devil and Homer Simpson - Flanders? It's always the person you least suspect. Tons of great parts.
Terror at 5-1/2 Feet - The Simpons do (or did) Twilight Zone parodies flawlessly
Bart Simpson's Dracula - Another regularly quoted segment. "Oh Lisa, you and your stories...Bart is a vampire, beer kills brain cells..."
^The last episode with a framing story, and it's quite a cool one, referencing Night Gallery.
5:
The Shinning - No TV and no beer make Homer...something, something. Love it.
Time and Punishment - I love the whole thing, but I REALLY love the beginning with the toaster.
Nightmare Cafeteria - I like how dismissive Marge is "I won't fight your battles for you...march back to that school and say 'dont eat me'"
^Yet another episode with several great moments and memorable stories and lines
6:
Attack of the 50 ft. Eyesores - Homer has a lot of great moments in this segment. "He came to life, good for him."
Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace - It takes a while for The Simpsons to attempt to tackle any of the major slashers (though I guess they did do Chucky sorta), and it's a great parody.
Homer3 - It's more about the novelty of style, but there are some great lines too, especially in the opening
^I remember seeing this one and being blown away at the time by the uniqueness of it all. Love the Freddy part.
7:
The Thing and I - A lot of funny one-liners that could go undernoticed "Check every place a maniac could be...I'll start with Radio Shack".
The Genesis Tub - In the first segment, Bart is the evil twin, here, he's the devil. This is a cool one.
Citizen Kang - It certainly feels a little bit dated these days, but since I remember the election, it's still funny and still works for me
^The first cracks start to appear in the Treehouse series...not that there's anything particularly bad, it's just not stellar from end to end.
8:
The Homega Man - Anything Homer-centric is usually great and this really is no exception. I also love all the French jokes in the beginning.
Fly vs. Fly - I really need to see the original Fly movies, as everything else fly related I've seen, I've enjoyed. I love all the stuff with Homer misusing the pods.
Easy Bake Coven - ehhh...it has its moments, but overall, in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't work perfectly
^Hard to be overly negative or anything, because it's still great, but Easy Bake Coven was probably the first time I can remember one of these segments leaving me feeling a little empty.
