After watching that teaser, LP's Godzilla could be the thing to bring Toho's Godzilla back. This movie is gonna make a big chunk of money the world over.

I really do think it's folly to consider Godzilla to be anything even close to resembling "Toho's Biggest Franchise™" anymore. Have you looked at the numbers for the Millennium films? It hasn't even really been their most medium-sized franchise in years, much less their biggest. Remember, they're basically THE movie studio in Japan. They've got plenty of other sources of income and Godzilla hasn't really been a cash cow since the 90s.

From a monetary perspective, yeah Toho's big annual franchise are the Pokemon movies. No way around that. We've had Godzilla producers say that Godzilla's biggest enemy is Pikachu.

We already spent a good few weeks over the past months saying why Godzilla will never return via Toho.
