It's not Luke Cage. In fact, there's even the implication he's not a traditionally African American character...or maybe it's that he's not a classic Marvel character.

They actually showed the whole pilot. Here's a review.

Looks like they're talking about doing a Peggy Carter show now.

I know this is Marvel overload, like big time, but I actually like this idea much more than Agents of Shield.

I think it's a bit much for 2 shows, but they should totally do a 2-parter related to something Carter did back in the formative days of SHIELD. Cut back and forth.

And I'm with you, this seems more interesting than Agents of SHIELD. At least then they could sort of be less of an Extra and provide more history on the world of the MCU.

Just watched episode 1. Loved the Extremis stuff being mentioned, and I'm really happy that the show seems to be using the Coulson as an LMD but unaware he's an LMD thing I wanted it to do. The death in the film isn't ruined now! :D YAY!

Overall I think it was just okay, but I think my standards were so low that I enjoyed it much more than I should.

With just middling expectations and little better to do when 8pm rolled around, I watched the premiere too, and I liked it! Definitely good enough that I'll follow the season, but not to the point that I'd consider it a huge favorite. May give it a second watch only because there was enough noise while watching it as it aired (which I haven't done for TV since... when Fringe started) that I missed some bits of dialogue and some of that technobabble.

I found the pilot to be supremely underwhelming.

It was pretty much exactly what I was expecting. I liked it okay, but I don't think I'll follow it consistently.

Althuogh I'm sure the intent was Irony, I do agree that Smallville was Crap. However since Agents of Shield dosen't attempt to be anything other than it claims to be, it does have my interest. I wasn't able to watch it live, but hopefully I can catchave time to watch it soon. I know its on ABC.com

There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

I liked Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D alot, actually. I found that it's an expanded version of Marvel One Shots, and that's not really a bad thing.

A shame they couldn't get Sam Jackson for the lead. The ever-smiling Coulson seems an idiot in charge of a group of the most uninteresting characters imaginable. The writing for the pilot was some of the worst I can remember in recent history, I felt like I was watching a cartoon for children.

Absolutely awful. I can't comprehend how people would waste their time on this when TV has so many great shows to offer. Breaking Bad, Homeland, Shingeki no Kyojin, American Horror Story, Game of Thrones--all consistently brilliant. God, even Under the Dome and Dexter were better than this.

I have a bad a feeling about that Star Wars show in the works.

The worst writing? Really? Not even close. I didn't fall in love with the show, but I can come up with a laundry list of awful TV out there that wishes it was as good as this. In fact I found some of the writing fairly witty and in keeping with The Avengers. Grounded and thought provoking, like the shows you listed? Of course not, but then none of the Marvel movies have been. This is a fun, little action series. Not an introspective character drama about a man cooking meth to deal with his cancer bills. The comparison is, in my opinion, pretty moot.

My concern is that the series will rely on too many references to the other movies to keep its audience. That won't last very long and they need to keep the stories and characters compelling on their own to keep an audience. It's way too early to say if it will or not, but the first episode had a decent enough set-up to see where it goes.
