Oh, one real complaint. The teeth looks too dull.

Teeth could be a bit more pronounced, but I'm digging this. The expressions are what I'm looking for now that the movie is in CGI. He's usually just grumpy when done in man in suit.

This design is excellent. I can relax now. The rest is downhill now.

So far I've seen mostly positive reactions to this reveal... are there people out there who hate it? It's kind of strange that all of us here seem to like it.

The look in the eyes of this Godzilla seems to be in line with what Gareth Edwards has described as a moving human narrative. I have a feeling his Godzilla is going to move us in a way we may not have anticipated.

Dear heavenly Lord he looks handsome again! I'll take this over every Godzilla head from the Millennium series. Thanks for not F$%&ing up Legendary! I love it! Love it, love it, love it! It is Godzilla.

I like it. Love the gills. Love the absence of the ears. His snout could be longer, and he could use bigger, more intimidating teeth, but I like it. I recognise it as Godzilla.

I like the design--In a way, the face looks similar to the Godzilla vs Megalon suit.
The future is big, sparkling warble of superclean and we should endevour to do our best to wash our feet by it.

Thank you,

I like it. I'd prefer slightly fiercer teeth.

I'd like to mention the quality in texture/detail compared to the kaiju in Pacific Rim. Huge difference. Pacific Rim kaiju didn't have a third of the scales/scrapes/bumps/frills as this model.

I don't like the snout that much either. It needs to have that dragon look. Just my opinion.

It may be the angle but, he's got a very humanistic look to him. Which is interesting.
Looks very identical to the encounter footage, just slightly less fierce.

I'm saving my judgement until I see the full design/him in motion. But this certainly IS Godzilla.

Waiting to here from (I forget who it was offhand and don't feel like looking it up), but the dude who said Godzilla HAS TO HAVE:
and then listed like 10 things, some of which were so super-specific and NOT in half the Toho designs that the list was just hilarious.

for those concerned about the dorsal fins:
Image

http://www.wallsave.com/wallpapers/1920 ... 465125.jpg

do those headshots give you pause as to the dorsals?

we've still basically only seen this design from the shoulders up, which is not a very good indication of the dorsals on just about any design in the series.

This might come out wrong, but the smooth parts of his face and the abnormal size of his head in proportion to his eyes kind of makes him reminiscent of a burn victim that has healed but has a lot of swelling. I'm not looking into it too much and saying that's what they were going for, that's just how it looks to me.

I said this about bearzilla and it's true for me now - the more I see the design the more I like it. Whatever minor quibbles are just that - minor. Nice work LP - I'm happy with this look so far.
