I remember being pretty excited he was playing Batman. Bale was "known" but he wasn't yet the name he is today. Kinda how I felt they should cast the new Batman. Now I feel like it's just going to be Superman vs. Affleck or The World's Oddest.

A friend of mine pointed out on Facebook that, after the quality of work he's done as a director in recent years, working on this movie really seems like a potential step backward for Affleck in terms of artistic credibility.

Maybe people are getting angry about this casting for exactly the opposite of the reason they ought to be.

Well let me put it this way. Affleck has to truly prove himself in this movie. The movie better be as golden or it is going to suck. Cavill already prooved himself as Superman, but Snyder still has to prove he can actually write a movie to be solid and Affleck has to prove that he can take anything Snyder throws at him and give us an award worthy performance.

I feel like if this film isn't golden it's not going to be solely Affleck's fault. The problem lies in trying to rush a Justice League project. I'd be WAYYY more into this if we were at a point at which we'd seen a new Batman reboot and MOS 2.
