I need to be careful when talking about this movie but...

...I just don't get it.
Why is everyone creaming their pants over this?
Is it BECAUSE it looks so ridiculous? Like, "Ha! This is hilarious! Look how ridiculous this looks and they are spending a hundred mill on it!"

and the cast? I'm sorry but since when do ex-wrestlers and Vin Diesel make for an awesome cast? Yeah, we all love Michael Rooker, but dude is no stranger to small roles, and I could see this being a smaller role for him. and Chris Pratt? Oh yeah, the dude who did the poop on my chest segment in Movie 43 really makes me think this will be GREAT....

I'm sorry, but I'm excited for this movie on the same level that I'm excited for Amazing Spider-Man 2 (SORT OF). I mean, yeah, ASM2 sounds like it's going to be awful because the cast is pretty lame, the director is a jabroni, and the studio can't help but interfere, but the potential car crash of insanity is the only real reason i can see to be EXCITED about this.

OH LOOK A RACCOON WITH A MACHINE GUN!!! That's supposed to make me think this will be a GOOD movie? It makes me think "Crazy." and maybe even "Crazy fun." but, GOOD?

I dunno, this just feels like one of those movies that I don't get, and that makes me kinda happy that I don't get...because if the world is gonna go crazy for a raccoon with a machine gun but not Pacific Rim, then I'm glad I'm not completely in-tune.

It's the ridiculousness + the comics + the director.
For me anyhow.

There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

Words.

I'm still excited to see how this movie turns out, despite this weird argument in the thread.

You know I have to be honest, I never heard of Guardians of the Galaxy until 2012.

Can I expect a well developed world on the level of movies like Star Wars?

Either way this movie is on my radar.
