There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

Gotta say - with deep regret and more than a little disgust - that after viewing the first disc from S1 of MMPR that I just cannot believe how utterly crappy it looks. I am shaking my head in wonder that this kind of ultra low-ball quality for the picture was given the greenlight for release. It is so horrifically pixelated that it looks like one of those gawd-awful bottom of the barrel bootleg sets you'd find on ebay with an entire season crammed on one disc.

Shout! does have 10 shows per disc, so that certainly doesn't help mattters any. Should've only been 6 - 7 eps per disc. Way too much compression. I'm watching these on a BluRay player, so the episode picture quality is actually being UP-converted. Is it just my set or are others here seeing what I am seeing??? I have a hard time believing that the source material they were given was THIS freaking bad! Ugh... just... ugh!!!

I don't think it's that bad. Brian Ward said even though there's a lot of episodes per disc they didn't go past the limit of causing any compression issues. That's the best the episodes are going to look, ever.

By the way, a seasons 8-12 box set has been announced for November. That's Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force, Wild Force, Ninja Storm, and DinoThunder.

The shows look like crap. I have 20+ year old VHS tapes of many of these shows that look better than these DVDs. Honest to God. That's just sad. I can only hope later entries in this set (Turbo, Lozt Galazy, etc.) look better, but I'm just getting into the Green Ranger 5-parter and everything is just so pixelated. Just a real bummer. Like I said before, ese shows look like low-budget junk discs you'd get off some boot/scammer on ebay. For what I paid (even on "sale") plus the fact that this release was a partnership effort from 2 reputable companies with great track records up until now... it's just very, very disappointing.

The extras are the saving grace, but even then not all of the cast participated in the interviews. Amy Jo Johnson & Austin St. John's absence were a real bummer. There were some fun bits and interesting behind-the-scenes stuff... but I'm advising everyone who's considering this set to BUY WITH CAUTION. Rent 'em first, if you can, to see what you'll be getting for your money.

My conflict now is that I'd rather pick only stuff I actualy have a vested interest in VS. the fact I'm pretty anal about being a completist about movie series and TV shows. LOL. But not having seen any of the later entries, I'll be able to better resist temptation and just wait a while until I can grab them used for cheap on Amazon. (Gotta love Amazon!)

However, if I hadn't just coughed up $175 for seasons 1-7 I would be pretty tempted. I was uber pissed to find out about the Legacy Deluxe release literally just 2 days after placing my order for 1-7! :x [/i]
