Ruggles of Red Gap

Brilliant (sort of) screwball comedy (with a Western setting) starring Charles Laughton as a proper English butler who is lost in a poker game to American new-money types. It's a very funny movie with a brilliant cast, but it actually turns into one of the most heartrendingly patriotic films I've seen. As a butler from a family of butlers Ruggles has never had freedom, and when he comes to America he reveals a yearning for the American dream.

I don't care what your political leanings or personal opinions are: if you're an American at a certain point in the film you will get a lump in your throat and, if someone's with you, you'll explain that you're fine and it's just that there's something in your eye.

The Wolverine - It's not BAD but it's not great. Nothing awesome or fantastic. It didn't feel much like a movie in the X-Men universe, just Wolverine in action movie set in Japan, Logan in Wasabi with out the humor and French-ness. The Viper seemed obviously dubbed, not sure if it's her real voice or not, not having seen the actress in anything else, but it was distracting that when ever she spoke her voice was coming from another universe. The Jean Grey dream sequences could be called face and cleavage scenes. It seemed like it tried being more than what it is, but it just didn't reach it.

Over all, it's not bad it's just really anything. Although the mid-credit bump was a nice tease to Days of Future Past, but I was hoping, like First Class, it wouldn't be yet ANOTHER Wolverine-centric X-Men movie.

Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

There are no more good TV Shows, only ones that haven't disappointed me yet.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

Gene Wilder is really incredible in this. The film would be acceptable without him, but his performance really takes hold a makes this film what it is.

... and have you ever noticed Wonka's office at the end?
