I'm curious... did Edwards tell WB/LP that he'd only need 95million ...or did they give him a budget of 150million and at the end of filming he gave them back the difference? I also can't believe that all of the paychecks have been written for this movie yet, since there's a loooong way to go finishing the CGI for the star and his adversaries. Any budgetary surplus may be eaten up in VFX for whichever company is doing the lion's share of the CGI for this flick. However... if the 150 vs. 95 is just for the live action portion of the movie then I say "Bravo!" to Mr. Edwards.
Regardless, it would surely be a great coup for him to deliver a professional "tentpole blockbuster" film for roughly
half the budget of what most other big name directors are mowing through. That'll not only make the rest of Hollywood sit up and take notice RIGHT NOW, it will also make his GODZILLA a much more likely candidate for easy break-even/profit for all concerned, and that means a far, far better chance that we'll be enjoying G-sequels down the road!!!

= win/win for everybody! Yay!!!
