I feel like HCW is a triumph of the comic book media. It really is a story that takes full advantage of the visual nature of comic books with the incredible artwork and the dynamic action while also taking advantage of the written media by telling a story that spans 50 years.

To do that with film would be terribly expensive (Benjamin Button was an era jumping drama and that cost $150 million... just imagine the cost all the action pieces in HCW would add to that). Its not impossible, but i think it would be terribly hard for a movie or a television series to do it justice.

It really has set a bench mark for Godzilla comics, but at the same time I would argue that it was one of the best series of the years because it elevated the story telling beyond fight sequences and dialog, it gave us a character whose obsession matched our own, and an adventure that took a lifetime to tell... and it did in 5 beautiful, action packed issues

Glad to see IDW gives Godzilla more attention at the cons than they do on their homepage.
