The World's End (2013)

Postby MouthForWar » Mon Apr 29, 2013 9:21 am

The new Edgar Wright film comes out this August. It stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and is the third in his "Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy" (which also includes Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz).

Its about a group of old friends who go on an epic pub crawl, which is interrupted by the Apocalypse.

[quote]The story for The World’s End centers on five childhood friends (played by Pegg, Frost, Eddie Marsan, Paddy Considine, and Martin Freeman) going through an epic pub crawl in order to reach the fabled pub, “The World’s Endâ€

It looks to be exactly like Shaun of the Dead, but with alien robots. I mean, the trailer used the same fence jumping scene. That does not mean it is bad, as I want to see it, but it seems to just be a carbon copy.

They also do the fence jumping in Hot Fuzz, its kind of a trademark at this point

My friends all went to the preview screening at comic con and loved it. They said its one of the best films of the year and might be the best of the "trilogy"!

Edgar Wright is a director that hasn't disappointed yet, and Nick and Simon are one of the best duos on the silver screen.

I saw this tonight and its fantastic. I think SHAUN is still my favorite of the trilogy, but this film is every bit as good as that and Hot Fuzz. The less you know going in, the better.

A great apocalyptic sci-fi film with tons of heart and the kind of comedy that only the trio of Wright/Pegg/Frost can bring.

After Pacific Rim, this is easily my second favorite film this year and I have a hard time imagining anything taking its place.

As far as I'm concerned, Edgar Wright is right up there with Christopher Nolan and Guillermo del Toro as far as popular genre directors go. He's incredible.

GO SEE THIS MOVIE, GUYS. I'm not even playin... its THAT good.

Gonna try to watch Shaun and Hot Fuzz with my sister today after work and then see The World's End together tomorrow.

These movies are kind of special between me and my sibling.

Crap, this kind of snuck up on me. I knew it was coming out, but I won't be able to go this weekend. :( I did watch Hot Fuzz over a week ago in anticipation of this, and I think I laughed more than I did the previous time I saw it. Hot Fuzz has definitely aged well.

Saw it this weekend and absolutely loved it. Definitely the best film I've seen this year, next to Pacific Rim. Though those are two totally different movies, so I can't really compare them.

Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.
