Yeah, don't bother with the 3d conversion. It's not bad, but it's not worth it. The movie was clearly shot without 3d in mind.

DelToro said it himself it was never meant to be seen in 3D, cause the 3D takes away from the scale, but they twisted his arm to say otherwise. Too much money left on the table.

I am really getting worried that the tracking numbers haven't improved. I know that Godzilla is still being made, but I feel like Legendary is investing a LOT in the giant monster genre (Titans, PacRim and Godzilla) and I REALLY hope that their investment pays off. Seriously, I don't understand how people can get excited for goofy/nerdy comic book movies but Giant Monsters still have this gigantic stigma attached to them.

^I saw tons of ads for the last three weeks. If it doesn't go over well, even with all the ads and the pretty great buzz from critics and people who went to the many advance screenings there's only one reason: people hate fun.

... which I've always suspected. They didn't like Speed Racer or Scott Pilgrim.

Hopefully overseas B.O. (which, I believe, is where 2/3rds of the profits are these days?) will be strong.
