I didn't realize there was this much hatred for grammar police, but I don't really do it online. So maybe I'm not trying to be an intellectually superior ass? If I'm in the classroom or near family (ESPECIALLY the family who grammar policed me during most of my life) I do it. I can't help it. It just happens.

I just warn against it as a blanket rule. If someone's writing a paper and you can help them out then go for it. If it's something super annoying like the difference between: their, there, they're then sometimes I'm unable to bite me tongue.

I just know that usually, when the grammar police show up, it's un-welcomed and stinks a certain degree of smugness. From what I've seen in the work place, you never want to be "that guy". Now, there's no harm in being the person that everyone brings their first draft to, but you never want to give unsolicited advice.

That's even more true online because people, generally, aren't trying to write full sentences. It's more of a stream of consciousness thing.

That's my two cents. Add a dollar to that and you can buy a Coke.

Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

It's not the grammar correction part, its just the fact that it can sometimes be rude and these internet trolls don't realize it. Hence, socially inept. So all they have to add to the conversation is a grammar correction? Quit lumping yourselves in with what I am talking about. Why would I refer to any of you as a "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!"?

Currently standing in line for a free preview screening in IMAX 3D (at the only real IMAX in town). Don't really care about the 3d, but I'm super excited! There are a ton of people here!
