The article above describes the warehouse as "giant claw marks" and that makes way more sense to me.

All I am saying is that I want the tone of this film to be scary and I want the public to be genuinely frightened. I want the film to make it very clear that there are is a very large number of casualties. No comedy. No charectors going Oh cool Look a giant monster and filming it to put it on You tube. If you were truly terrified you would not think of doing something like that.
