I'm going to get all fanboyish here for a second.

Judging by the way everything looks like it's been melted, but not pulverized...is it possible we will have a more gaseous Godzilla breath ala the Showa era as opposed to the lazerbeam breath of the Hesei era and beyond?

I really doubt it's gonna be gaseous. I think the fact we're not seeing completely obliterated objects is because 1. That would have to be an added in effect or 2. This is the aftermath and these are the lucky jacked up machines that survived the initial onslaught.

Here's a troubling thought: have we had confirmation anywhere that the other two monsters will be giant monsters? G98 and Cloverfield both felt the need to have smaller monsters that could chase the human characters around dark corridors. I hope the new movie isn't going that direction.
