What I miss most, and most fondly remember, is how great a feeling it was to walk into a video store and discover a monster movie you'd never heard of. That's how I managed to find almost all the Godzilla movies, I didn't get a real list of them until G-Fan published a list as part of some poll they ran...I think that was around 1996 or so. Before then, the Godzilla series was a wide open ocean of stuff and nobody knew what was out there! ^___^

It still happens once in a while, but more often movies I've heard of but didn't realize were released (like Jack the Giant Killer and Reptilicus, both of which I stumbled upon in Amazon Instant) and anime (this is how I found Orguss 02, a FANTASTIC mecha anime).
